I created a lab and in was trying something and was thinking what if I had multiple networks and didn't want to manually add all the networks. I was curious to see if I used a default route with the distance of 100 (for the floating route) on the backup interface. It showed that back up link as the default gateway but when I did a traceroute it still used the preferred path until I shut it down.
