This is another example of why we need members of government to be from modern gens and have decent education. If things like this are going on with average folks, imagine the calls people like Feinstein or Grassley are getting.

if you put comments on any video on you tube you end up getting stuff in your email telling you that you have won a prize, you just need to pay the shipping and it is yours . DO NOT give out your credit card info . IT IS A TRAP !

You know it's bad when you have to come up with coded safe words in order to prove to your loved ones that you are truly you and not an imposter.

My mom is in her 80s and she has gotten many grandchild scam calls. She used to tell me about how she screwed with them but now she's sick of it and just blocks them. She liked it when she made up a name and they went with it. My step dad used to do it too. Keep them on the line so at least they weren't bothering other people. I told her about this one a long time ago and said we need a code word for the grand kids when they call. 2012 was the first time I heard of this but with smart phones it's just so fast and easy now.

The best part is that nothing will be done. Local police are entirely ill equipped to handle media scams.

These are the types of crimes that need to be dealt with, on a global level. These are the things our "leaders" should be focused on when it comes to crime.

These are not crimes of a relative necessity, like a mugging or strong-arm robbery of a store. It's not someone desperate enough to feed a family or a drug addiction.

Ordinary robbery (it's frequency and locale) can be easily addressed with raising wages, benefits, and working-life/workplace regulations and improvements for all workers. Things like assistance with obtaining medical care (M4A) and a livable retirement.

Nope. None of this is dealt with. Local police are resigned to be tantamount to a real estate security agency, merely intent on harassing the poor and teenagers.

Meanwhile, this new brand of electronic crime that will touch us all in some way, at some point, is completely ignored out of total lack of resources and training.

I would love if one of those scammers took cash from a congressperson it would be hilarious to watch the grifters get grifted

My girls were taught a password for school. If anyone other than I came to pick them up at school if they didn't know the word they were to tell staff they couldn't go home with them be because they weren't authorized. This idea for wifi scammers is a great idea. ❤

My father in law was recently scammed out of thousands of dollars. It was the "hi grandpa, i'm in jail" scam. FIL said it sounded just like my son's voice. We all wrote it off to "old ears" but now I think otherwise.

Scammer called me pretending to be my son. He did drop it until I told him I don't have any kids.

They used my phone number to call and scam people. I had so many pissed off people call me. They also called me using my uncle's name on the caller id. He died the weekend before. I never yelled at someone so bad in my life.

Better not record a greeting on the voice mail.

Don't worry. Congress just found out that Twitter and Facebook are different companies.

There are some real pieces of human s**t out there, to do this so brazenly and with no remorse. I feel awful for his family.

It’s not just a job though. I’ve been living in China and there’s a problem going on where educated Chinese people get tricked into going to Australia for a job but when they arrive they get trafficked into high rise towers full of scammers. They get abused if they don’t comply. There are reports of teams going in to help them escape but it’s a serious problem

This is why you don't list your family as family on Facebook. Nobody needs to know who your family are.

I feel for for that guy’s family. He’s got some good parents. No way my parents would give me $21K for sh**. Even for ransom they ain’t spending that kinda money on me.

Imagine if we just redesigned a system that didn't center around money.
