Do you count calories?

I love this question because absolutely no, I do not count calories and I hate the idea of counting calories. I don't know about you, but I was never really good at math. So bringing it into food is definitely not something that I want to do.

When it comes to calories, by definition, a calorie is simply a unit of energy of that given food. And I think it's a really archaic way of thinking about health and what you're putting into your body.

If you take 200 calories of Twizzlers and 200 calories of broccoli, the nutrient composition of those two foods, though they're calorically the same, but the nutrient profiles are going to be entirely different, which is why I focus so much on quality and what you're actually putting into your body, versus calories.

Love your mention of the difference in the nutritional profile of those two foods. THIS is what needs to be understood by so many!

I agree with you I think it’s important to eat healthy but also important to add treats in a diet where it’s much more sustainable that’s my take on it
