It's a small thing, but I think it was a really smart decision to cut the usual opening laugh for this cover. It definitely helps the mood of the song set in faster, as the audience isn't jumping between different tones.

This movie really was the last kiss I needed from this franchise, I'm fine with it ending this way, i dont want more evangelion movies or series to happen. I loved it, I loved the journey, I loved the message

This cover made me notice that the song pretty much describes Gendo's relationship with Yui. "But then I felt a dark premonition, you I'd lose", "I don't need a photograph, cause in my heart an image of you lingers" (reference to that scene where Gendo tells Shinji he doesn't have any picture of her mother), "I try to act like I don't miss you" and "we both never meant to hurt the other". Also, HUGE SPOILER the chorus (can you give me one last kiss?) could refer to Gendo's plan all along to let Yui escape from Shinji's body and grasp her one last time before instrumentality happens. Now I can't see the song in the same way, it's kinda dark actually.

After watching that movie, everytime I hear this song, English or original, I start to cry. It sounds ridiculous but evangelion was an anime like no other, it brought happiness, sadness, anger and so much more. I'll forever love this series and the journey it brought me on. Seeing shinji run off with mari as an adult, finally happy after his teenage years were full of trauma brought me to full tears and I'm so grateful to have been able to know and watch this series.
I hope yall have a great day, and if you're thinking about watching it, prepare for alot of fan service, beautiful animation, depression, and an experience you'll never have with another anime <3

Damn... this song feels such a fitting conclusion to Evangelion as a whole. Great cover! Its crazy how much emotion I have for this series, even though I just recently watched the OG series and EOE for the first time only a month ago. I got so hooked, I read the manga, and watched all of the Rebuild movies, including 3.0+1.0 this week. Can't believe this series has become one of my most favorite pieces of fiction in such a short time.

A beautiful rendition of probably one if not the most catchy and unforgettable NGE songs of all time, with excellent mixing of both vocals and music, both complimenting and never overpowering the other, topped off with just the right amount of bass thump.
