Good day my frugal friends. Here are some of my frugal tips:
1. I don't buy expensive cleaning products- I use baking soda mixed with vinegar to clean my entire house.
2. I don't buy paper towels- I use old clothes as cleaning cloths to wipe messes.
3. I go to youtube before calling someone to fix things in my home- I've fixed my own toilet, changed my car engine filter and air fliter and fixed my backdoor lock. If I can do it anyone can do it. Trust me, I am not a handy kind of gal.
4. I don't eat out- I grocery shop once a month and prep my meals once a week.
5. I don't buy deodorant - I make my own deodorant. I mix coconut oil, baking soda and two/three drops of essential oil. This keeps me fresh all day and it is natural.
6. I don't waste gas on making several trips in one day- I plan my shopping trips and do all shopping on one day.
7. I don't do laundry on peaks hours. I run my washing maching on off peaks hours (9pm-6am). You can call your electric company to find out your off peak hours.
8. I buy my clothes from the thrift store. I don't buy clothes unless I need it. I have not bought any clothes since 2020.
9. I don't use cable. There are many free streaming servies online. Youtube is my favorite.
10. I don't buy expensive cell phones. I have a motorola phone that is perfect for me. It is a smart phone and it does everything. I paid $90.00 for it.

I live alone but make meals for 4.1 for tonight 1 for tomorrow and 2 for the freezer for days I don’t want to cook. I also find that by bulk cooking I can sometimes get 5 meals out of one cook.

Don’t for get left overs does not need to be the same meal, Chilli can be served with rice or pasta, the next day with a potato topping it can be cottage pie, or for a quick meal put it over a jacket potato or a pack of noodles.

Most of the time I keep my thermostat under 63°. I live in a mobile home so I wear several layers of clothes. I just cannot afford a $200 a month power bill. Luckily I'm single so I don't have to worry about children.

I use my salad plates as my dinner plates to prevent overeating. The smaller plates trick my brain into thinking that I have a full plate of food so I tend to eat all of it but less of it at the same time. 😊

I grocery shop less frequently now saving me 💰 💵 💴 🥹🙂

We need more siding. It's wood siding so it's chilly in here during the winter. I keep it set at 70 when it gets really cold. Warmer days I drop it down to 68 or cooler. My husband takes my leftovers for lunch. My husband takes his old socks and makes chew toys for our dog. I cut my own hair. Your hair looks amazing.

Keep my temp at 65 in the winter, but our southern winters are pretty mild except for the nights when, as you say, you’re under warm bedding. It’s the summers that get me. I have a programmable thermostat and had been setting it for 82 while I’m at work, but I found one of my dogs is really heat sensitive and would get distressed to the point of vomiting, so now I have it at 78 with the ceiling fans on during summer months. She’s not even a cold weather dog - chihuahua/Jack Russell mix, so I wasn’t expecting that.

I'm with you on leftovers. I call it "serial leftovers" when I use last night's meal and make it into something new. My husband doesn't like a lot of leftovers (I could the same thing all week!) so I've had to get creative. It really does save on the grocery bill. You are such a gracious lady and so encouraging in your videos. Keep up the good work.

Great frugal living tips! I like your tip about charging your phone in the morning. I used to charge my phone while I was sleeping, but now I charge it in the evening before bed. It definitely saves on the electric bill.

Thank you. Ive been doing most of these. Frugality is a skill. The amount of waste that occurs in society is mind boggling. I tell people I attend You Tube University and that Dollar Tree is one of my favorite store.

Great interesting and helpful info! I also really appreciate that you are brief and to the point. I can’t stand videos that ramble and “um” on and on. Thank you for being smart and efficient with time, as well as money!

71 degrees is really warm. 😅 Try 62 degrees, if you are really frugal. By the way, I live in Maine.

I raised three kids. I set up a WACB.. warm and cozy basket. When they came in the door, they put on warm socks, warm long underwear. they liked it because they could pick what they wanted in their WACB

I'll sometimes make over my leftovers. Instead of eating them as is, I will use them in a quiche, a soup, or a casserole. This transforms the food and makes it a lot easier to convince family members to eat leftovers.
