Vanness Pens has Akkerman inks in the USA. They have quite a nice website and I have been impressed by their services.

Love the poem "Where Ackermann Lies." Both the recitation and the adaptation spot on and sure to become a classic!

Love your enthusiasm for this wonderful interest, Stephen, always have.  I also appreciate that you remain as fervent about it all as you were years ago.  Another great video here.
By the way, I have a Visconti Opera Master in black guilloche with an IB nib (fashioned by Mike Masuyama) en route to me - can't wait until it lands!

Did you say Akkerman is available in New Westminster (B.C. Canada) ?

I've been looking for this review for a couple of days. Well worth the looking, by the way. I don't see this one listed on your website. Am I missing something?

Shoot out between this pen and M1005 demonstrator or your M1000 BB?

Beautiful pen!  Is it the same finish as the Homo Sapiens Crystal Swirl?  I just picked that one up, and love it!  Thanks for the great video!

I'm curious, I personally prefer the section (between nib & body) to be made of the same material as the body and cap (usually acrylic resin.) I've read many find the metal sections become hard to grip and may get slippery after long use. Visconti seems to favor metal sections on their models. Since you're a big fan, how have you found they handle during a long writing session or in warmer weather? Thanks!
Oh and will there be a Serious Nibbage follow-up?
BTW, the camera work is wonderfully clear and the lighting good and bright! I'm able to see all the minute detail, up to the hash-marks in the inked barrel and the facets on body  & cap. Well done!

What about a shootout between the Opera Master, MB 149 and Pelikan M1000???

Hello, I'm so glad you found your grail pen! Always the dream. Thank you for your reviews too.
I am the opposite of you, I like fine nibs, a bit of spring, a light and smaller pen. 15-20grams is about ideal, but I can use an Pelikan m200 uncapped without issue. You have such a large collection, I was wondering what you'd suggest for someone with my requirements? I am willing to spend, and I prefer gold nibs, for the spring. If you have the time to answer, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, for someone in Canada, what's the best way to buy akkerman ink?

This is quite an impressive writing instrument, Stephen! I absolutely adore that Akkerman Shocking Blue ink!
