The SPIKE Precision Tactical Guided Missiles Family is a dependable and versatile weapon system that offers precision strikes through advanced technology, without compromising on reliability or cost-effectiveness, with a unit cost of approximately $210,000. It is designed by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and manufactured by several other companies, including EUROSPIKE GmbH, Diehl Defence, Rheinmetall Defence Electronics, and ST Engineering Singapore. The design process began in the late 1970s, and production has been ongoing since the early 1980s, with the Spike NLOS being the first model to enter production. The system has since undergone several upgrades, including the introduction of the Spike-MR/LR/ER in 1997 and the Spike-SR in 2012.

The 6th generation SPIKE NLOS now has an extended range of up to 50 km when launched from a helicopter and up to 32km when fired from land or naval platforms. A single operator and launcher can fire and control up to four missiles simultaneously, allowing for the element of surprise against enemy forces. Also the new Target Image Acquisition capability allows the NLOS to pick out the commander’s tank or the most important hostile asset and strike it.

Control over the sixth generation SPIKE missile can be transferred between battlefield platforms mid-flight, allowing for uninterrupted operational pace and seamless collaboration between systems. For example, if a helicopter launches the missile but flies out of the area, a ground vehicle in the same attack zone vicinity can take control of it and navigate the missile toward the target.

5:37 No Spike cannot be launched from a Harpy or a Harop because they are loitering munition's they can however be launcehd from MQ-9 or Hermes drones.
