I was fishing on a lake once in a small aluminium boat and all of a sudden all the other boats pulled anchor and took off back to shore. I was really fixated on the fishing as it picked right up but didn’t notice these monster storm clouds form above me until I heard thunder. It was quite a show.

I was surrounded by big black thunderclouds and I too had a carbon fibre fishing rod. I kept hearing an intermittent ticking sound. I couldn’t work out were the tick came from so moved about the boat putting my ear to different things. Eventually my dumb ass realised it wasn’t the prop slowly turning on the motor, but my rod. 😳 Whenever I lifted the rod, the higher I raised it, the quicker the ticks got. I suddenly realised I was in deathly danger and laid the rod flat on the boat floor where the sound stopped and I got the hell out of there.

Thresher sharks are awesome. They're among the most beautiful sharks in the sea. But yea don't mess with them. Underwater they're pretty shy and retiring, though.
