Cape Fear (1991) The actor-director team of Robert de Niro and Martin Scorsese have made no less than eight films in total. This diamond of a film came between 'Goodfellas' and 'Casino'. It's intense, it's thrilling and it's devilishly brilliant. We'd expect nothing less.

Look at his eyes as he walks out of his cell. He doesn't even look at anyone or anything. He's been waiting for this for 14 years, and he's just ready to get his revenge. De Niro is so incredible.

All the actors did a good job on this film but Robert de niro was something else! Even though it was many years ago since I saw it I can still vividly see his character mumbling his biblical prophecy as his death approached! Personally my favourite performance by de niro in any of his movies

De Niro puts his shirt on in this scene EXACTLY the same way John Justin did in The Thief of Bagdad at 22:12 (Criterion dvd). Scorsese and De Niro loved Michael Powell and i would say this is a little physical homage. Scorsese's films are chock full of them.
