Max cady scares me more than any horror movie.
jessica lange pleading to leave her daughter alone, desperation, fear, almost hurts to watch it.
This movie has the burden to be compared to scorseses other movies, when its a masterpiece just by its own.

Jessica Lange's desperate pleas to Cady while using her already outsider inner feelings to establish "a connection" with him to save her daughter is so well done 💯

One of the finest acting hours of DeNiro’s entire career… even if it was for a remake.

What an incredible scene. All four actors in top form. You can’t take your eyes off the scene. Scorsese and DeNiro hit it out of the park

I like how the flame went back to the bottle. It was a real moment.

I checked out Cape Fear from 1991 and the one from 30 years before titled Cape Fear. The late great actors Gregory Peck and Robert Mitchum were in both versions. Gregory Peck was Sam and Robert Mitchum was Max.

I still appreciate the way he's characterized, reminds you he's still a very human terror. Even while he's ranting about becoming 'more than human', he's watching his hand very carefully, he's really trying to play off the pain and he chucks that flare out with quickness.

For all his supposed pure evil, he's got a whole lot of bluster and ego wrapped up in a way that could almost be interpreted as some deep-seated insecurities.

He has a high threshold, but that threshold also clearly has a limit that he doesn't want to show

Should have asked him to preform the entire score of the iconic opera H.M.S. Pinafore . Then …… problem solved
