this is not the first bionicle set using system pieces, that titel can go to the 2005 System Subwave from Bionicle

If other Bionicle fans like system builds for Bionicle figures, that's fine, nothing wrong with that.

But personally, I much prefer the technic builds from G1 the best. That was a big part of the appeal of this franchise to me: the uniqueness of the types of pieces used for their construction.

If I had the money and resources, I would eventually 3-D print my own technic build pieces if the Lego Company doesn't seem like they will make them ever again.

Definitely not the first Bionicle set to use system pieces, Bionicle had a couple system play sets in 2005-2006 that look similar to today's ninjago sets. Nevertheless I'm a huge fan of this new Bionicle set!

I don't understand why some people hate this set so much. I think it's kinda cool, it contains two characters, each with their own weapons, articulation is good, a lot of small details like stones, and lava surf. And this set is anyway better then... You know what.

Actually, there were a few diorama sets with system pieces. Though this might be the only posable figure on its own strictly with system, if that's what you meant.
