Looking back on it now, I’d say the set was pretty scuffed from the get go.

I’ll say first, the set is a nice homage to the original set and a good tribute to the first and the most iconic character of the franchise.

Where I think they messed up is where LEGO put the set as a GWP. GWP is understandable but when you’re putting up a $100 wall and you’re only allowing buyers to purchase under certain themes to make that cut just seems like we’re getting scrapped or they’re likely just exploiting fans to funnel in more money.

Im happy that LEGO is taking the chance to give Bionicle the light that it deserves but the way that we have to jump through hoops just to get it. I don’t know, it’s just messed up.

I'm convinced that Lego purposefully made this exclusive to non-licensed sets so it'll bomb and they don't have to bring the theme back.

I wonder if I can part it out on bricklink, because I love this build. It looks really close to Tahu Mata and Takua but brick built and I think it has the amaja nui too. But 100$ is a bit much for my wallet.

I'm so frustrated people on the internet getting bent out of shape because they look so brick like first of all the original modes are no longer being used so it would be expensive to start using them again or even remake them if they're damaged and then you also have to consider the molds for the original wave a Bionicle we're from around 2001 and Lego standards of quality have changed so it most likely have to be new molds I don't know ccbs is still even being produced by Lego

Personally I like the lego heroes sets more...
The modular construction and more robust articulation appealed more to me as a kid, but I did have bionicles too

NGL when Bionicle was gonna make a comeback I expected it to be like the new buildable figures for marvel or at least like the buildable figures over the years, but I guess this is good too.
