Also the author of Coraline, Neil Gaiman was asked why he wrote Coraline and said
“The point of it was to write a story for my daughters to tell them that being brave didn’t mean that you weren’t scared, it meant that you were scared but you did the right thing anyway”.

And the reason it was called Coraline was because he misspelt Caroline but found the typo to be a much unique and interesting name. Deciding to keep it.

The story actually came from a nightmare Neil Gaiman's daughter had where she dreamed that her mother was replaced with an identical one with buttons for eyes. Neil Gaiman had talked about it in some interview he did when the book came out.

I know that house and no it has nothing to do with Coraline. I actually wanted that house in this video. The interior is actually really beautiful. I think it was built in the 1860s but it’s been a while since I did any research on it. It also served as a stop for the Underground Railroad. This house from the first time
I saw it years ago has captivated me. Something about it draws me in. I would love to live there and restore it.

I saw this building in another video of abandoned buildings and found it's location by using a screen capture and Google's find photos option. It's in upstate NY. It was several years ago and I didn't know there was a story behind it.
