Plastic Milk

In today’s experiment we have one of our volunteers, Carol, show us how to make plastic milk. Combining milk with vinegar causes the separation of two essential milk proteins, Casein and Whey. Straining the mixture isolates Casein, which with you are able to mold and shape, creating your very own plastic milk! Protein powders are made this way, as well as food items such as cheese and cottage cheese! For this experiment you will need: 1 cup of milk, 4 tbsp of vinegar, a strainer, a bowl, and a fork.
