Mother Answers Daughter's 911 Call During Armed Robbery

A teenage girl working at a New Orleans McDonald's was robbed at gunpoint. NBC News’ Niala Charles has the story of how when the girl called 911, her mother was on the other end assisting her through the situation.

That’s one of a mothers worst nightmares and to be the dispatcher receiving the call is really tough especially keeping your emotions in check and getting help out as soon as possible without breaking down. I was a medic for almost 10 years and thankfully I never had to respond to any of my families calling 911. Way to go mom and also the daughter because when we hear our loved ones in distress we want to break down and neither of them did that.

My Daddy was an emergency dispatcher back in the 80's. He took the call when my mom called for an ambulance when 16 year old me smashed a Honda Big Red 3 wheeler into an oak tree at full speed. Unconscious, skull fracture, broken leg, broken thumb, face, chest, and arm looked like ground beef... I can't even imagine what he went through when he got that call, or what my poor momma went through waiting for an ambulance with an unconscious daughter. Emergency personnel on all levels are heroes!

My dad was once called to a fatal tractor accident at his uncle's farm and found his uncle crushed under the machine. My cousin's boyfriend picked up our grandma's call when she died. Small town.

Baby girl not only was that your mum, but that was also God and your Guardian Angels shielding you both from harm, your ancestors. This is the rarest I've ever heard.
