Missing Barbarian! The only game ever where you decapitate someone...then a green goblin comes on, literally kicks the head off the screen...gobs off at the dead body...and drags the body off with it...tight gameplay and great graphics made this one of the best games on the C64, and arguably one of the best ever.

Legend of Blacksilver, Ultima IV, Pool of Radiance and Gunship. Games for the brain, not for the wrist, was my cup of tea!

It’s probably almost impossible for any of us to agree on a top 10, as we all had different, most likely, awesome experiences with it. For me, the Epyx series (California Games/Winter Games etc) felt so far ahead of their time. Defender of the Crown was also an excellent game, along with Rocket Ranger, Strip poker, Racing Destruction Set, Ultima, Alternate Reality, Mail Monsters, Montezuma’s Revenge, Project Space Station, Beachhead, Super Huey, and Leisure Suit Larry! I bought a Aprotek 1200 bps modem, to replace my 300 bps one, just to download a Kathy Ireland picture.. all 16 colors of that pure goodness. If you squinted just right, it was epic.
Sporting dual 1541’s and a ram expander.... nothing beat hitting enter on LOAD “*”, 8, 1

It’s incredible the creativity of the programmers - you had to make entire game fit into 64k bits at a time. I think one of the best games on there - Lode Runner

Ghostbusters was ahead of its time. Loved that game.

International Karate really looks interesting. The sprites move so naturally, and the background was impressive, for The Commodore 64.

I was amazed with international karate when I first played it. loved the physics of the fighting, the variation of strikes and the fact that you could knock your opponent onto their back, front or ass. it was also quite a realistic interpretation of karate based "point fighting".

Definitely a solid list. Some I enjoyed in no particular order:
1. Sword of Fargoal
2. Gateway to Apshai
3. Ultima 3
4. Racing Destruction Set
5. Commando
6. Spy Hunter
7. Raid on Bungeling Bay
8. Commando
9. Impossible MIssion
10. Seven Cities of Gold
11. M.U.L.E.
12. Silent Service

We probably had 600+ games on that thing, it was _glorious_ for a kid growing up.

I like Sanxion too... Liked seeing Uridium up there! I also remember Beach Head and Raid Over Moscow being mind-blowing as a kid when the C64 first came out.

The last ninja 1 and 2 were incredible games for their time. I spent hours playing them. No mention of outrun..that was also decent on the C64.

I fully expected Impossible Mission to be there with the digitized voice. C64 with voice was incredible at its time. The biggest one that should have been on the list was Jumpman JR. It was the most simplistic and early game that never made it to the arcade. Everyone loved it. It came after Donkey Kong, but as far as I know was a game created for the C=64 only.

Boulder Dash was my favorite childhood game. I was 15 when I saw this game first and I was in love with it. :) But I doubt about the other games.
