In this video you will learn resolution to a common error while creating Availability group listener. It helps to resolve couple errors as described below.
1- The WSFC cluster could not bring the network name resource with DNS name 'Your AG Listener Name' online, The DNS name may have taken or have conflict with existing name or the service ....
2- Cluster network name resource 'Listener Name' failed to create its associated object in domain 'Your Domain Name' during resource online ....
Video shows step by step how to resolve this error if even you have sub folders under computer folder in your Active Directory, how to assign proper " Create Computer object", " Delete Computer Object" permissions in active directory to the cluster object "Clustername$". It explains that you must set these permissions in same container where you cluster is created in Active directory.

Brilliant little video and fixed my problem immediately. I spent about a day trying multiple things and then unpicking what we did to try and resolve with no success. We knew it was the create Computer object permission we needed to add but couldn't figure out where we needed to apply it. Massive thanks

It worked!! If you guys are using different OU for SQL then give the above mentioned access only to that OU.

Possible answer is application will work as usual and failover will not happen has expected (based on ag concept) if primary node fails ...

Hi ...What will happen if Listener fails, (Assume application is connected to primary node only and not with listener name or virtual network name)

that A record in your dns for listener, was that a working machine or only a record and IP only ?
what I followed is:-
1. go to dns and created a host record,
2. given that a network range IP address which was free.
3. Added it to the listener and it is added successfully. But it did not work as it should be. what do you think the prblem can be?
