In this video, we'll talk about the most competitive residency specialties.

If you’re currently in medical school, you’ve probably given some thought to which specialty you’d like to pursue and why. Lots of different factors go into this important decision, like salary, work-life balance, and, of course, your interests.

Another factor that sometimes gets overlooked: the competition to enter certain specialties, which can vary significantly.

In this video, we'll share which residencies are the most competitive to match with and the reasons why.

How does the Pass/Fail system affect this? Seeing as step scores help with more competitive specialties, wouldn’t the Pass/Fail system skewer this?

Competitive means " I am superior than other". So US residency is not about your desire and endurance but rather scores and statistics. Objective doctors rather than empathy and desire to help in need.

Awesome video, Where would Urology and ophthalmology be place in this list of eight specialties? Would they be among the eight or more like anesthesiology and emergency medicine?
