I don't limit myself to 10 items, always pack for 5 categories: shelter, food, water, hygiene, first aid. Bare bones (9 pounds, 1lb Walnuts) to 3 day (22 pounds, 3 day food) to long term hike (32 pounds, resupply every 5 days). Take at least bare bones on day hikes in case something unexpected happens. Sub freezing weather adds another 5-6 pounds.

Actually I think we all know the ten items thing started with our favorite survival show Alone 🙂 Also you made a great point about the ancestors coming out of the gas station with a knife. Several years ago I was sitting around looking at a cheap $10 neck knife I had wasted money on, it is shaped like a large spear point and has a double edge blade. I pulled out a very nice stone artifact knife I had found and started to compare the two. I quickly realized that the cheap modern knife was light years ahead of my artifact, regardless of how beautiful it is.

I always love your videos JJ, but this one I found especially fun and entertaining. I love how you mix funny and entertaining into the great info you deliver. I was delightfully surprised at how you started the video calling it as it is... no beating around the bush, not showing the item, using code words, etc. I understand that the egregious and ongoing violations of our protected God given rights by these anti-human platforms is the reason many do that, but I'm so over it and I applaud you for showing and telling the truth.

Love the video, super cool. You really put a lot of thought into thing I think of is a small fire kit I made to carry in my pocket. Never leave camp without it, even if you think you will be away for a hour or two. You just never know what could happen in an hour.

Most people who need to be rescued are medically or otherwise stranded. Food, take food. Being stuck in the woods unable to walk around is f*cking miserable enough without being hungry too. I slipped down a hill and smashed my knee on a tree on the way down. I was able to limp around but I couldn't climb back up the hill even with help. (I injured myself further trying) So I got to spend 3 days at the bottom of that hill hoping nothing happened to my friend while he went to get help and that they'd be able to find me. It was miserable. Moving hurt, so keeping warm was difficult, cutting wood was impossible and being stuck like that is actually pretty terrifying. So food, something to cook with and a pocket stove. It is comforting in a time when you'll need comforting.

Our 10 items : 1) Hunting Boomerangs 2) Dad's custom made poncho 3) Mum's modded multitool 4) Agreed - Cache Belt 5) Fire kit. Ours include a Laser, much faster than a magnifying glass. Also ever thought of carrying methane capsules.? 6) Really like to know where you get info about H2o, unusual numbers. The Grail is the best mate. Ever tried making a similar product with Bamboo, its shoots & leaves.? 7) Dad's golf umbrella, it's a 2 person shelter. Yeah..ponchos are functional 8) We salute to the person who invented the modern Backpacks. The 1st one was invented approximately 60 thousand years ago by the first natives in Australia. Then again there were other civilizations that are much older than the Aboriginals in the Land Down Under. 9) First Aid - definitely compulsory. Both Mum & our older sister Rylie are herbalist, Mother Nature is the best Witch Doctor. Grandma been treating us with natural medicine since we were babies but must admit that we both got sick when Covid hit the scene. But good old grandma was there to the rescue. Non of the family got the shots even though it was force upon the people. A lot of people lost their jobs because they refuse to have the shots. 10) Now you're talking Mr.JJ. "Symbolism" is what got the human race to today, through peace & wars with beliefs that non really understand even today, It has multiple languages & writings with different shapes & sizes with some having beautiful colours & scent that could take us on journeys that can only be achievable mentally. We have totems but only the 3 of us knows what it is, it is not made but was found. It is 6.15am here currently & Mum yelled out "when is that bloody cooking show"? We go for walks in the morning before brekky, something that we do when visiting our parents. They keep us grounded. They keep us safe. Thank you Mr.JJ for sharing your expertise & fun attitude with us. Love always..Rylie, Nellei & Nikkei. So you wish to know more about Drop Bears.? Stay tune to the next Fuel the Fire.!
