Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley has told London Assembly members public trust in the force is “dented but not broken” and his leadership team is “going after” corrupt officers.

In his opening speech, Sir Mark paid tribute to the work of thousands of Met officers, noting 95 have been assaulted on duty in London over the past week alone, but added: “We also have hundreds of people in the organisation letting us down."

Later, amid questions about the “disproportionate” use of police strip search powers on black people, Sir Mark invited London Assembly members to consider why “young black men are 12 times more likely to be murdered in London over the last decade than young white men”.

Nothing about tackling burglars, shoplifters (thieves) child molesters etc.

The slightly less corrupt investigating the more overtly corrupt. What could go wrong?

Never mind about corrupt officers, just go after the ones taking the knee, dancing at gay pride festivals and arresting people for posting memes. They're worse than ones taking a backhander

Why does everyone still not believe them ?
Could it be something like calling the Independent police investigation committee still being run by the police perhaps?

You can tell by the appeal to diversity that they won't come back with any substantial results.

It's so wrong that all police titles that i see are completely and subconsciously ignored as i know they will do absolutely nothing to change.

Is there such a thing as a policeman who is not corrupt I don't think so. Don't ever trust these .

More or less he's saying give me a few months to hide the one's who've caused a few problems because we have a shortage of police officers.

I'd normally be cynical about this but I've heard this guy complain that he didn't have the power he needed to flush out corrupt officers so I have more faith in him, especially more than the last person who tried to coverup the fact that their vetting standards were non existent. The problems of racism and mysogyny are serious issues which need dealing with but the problem is deeper than that, the police don't care about truth and society, they care about their own goals and workload above anything else. They're serving the establishent and themselves when they should be serving society, so there needs to be a fundamental change of what their purpose and role is in society imo.

Met Police ‘going after’ corrupt officers says Commissioner...If you're really going to do this, you'll need to employ a totally independent, impartial, 110% committed team. Members of the team should be victims of police corruption themselves. Corruption is rife within the Govt, police and courts!! Unless you follow my advice, you're pissing against the wind. I'll happily take a position where I get the chance to stomp all over corruption.
