Today we do a breakdown of how much it should cost you to do your own Cummins swap. More specific to this truck but should be around what it would cost for most people unless you have a better body/ engine or completely different car/ truck... obviously. This body would be around $4,500 and the engine/ trans, with a tad bit more miles but almost nothing for a Cummins is around $4,000+.

Body swaps are always something to keep in mind. Dropping a 65c10 body on a 2g I've got rn.

Cummins 12 valve cores are $2500 to $3000 just to rebuild, don't believe me do Craigslist National searches, makes me sick to my stomach I put it off the last 12 months, but on the flipside, new $70k diesel trucks motivates me on my 87' bricknose.

Owned many many, 67 to 79 Ford trucks, the steering boxes are not very good if you have the power assist cylinder good luck, front cab mounts rot out, but they are a tank.

Im retired and have always love Javelins. I am fully capable of restoring this car and would give a new life.

Love it! My vote is keep the wagon wheels, they’re timeless 😊

I'm planning on Cummins swapping a 70s Ford but having a tough time finding a 4 wheel drive and I prefer an Allison transmission and hoping to build a vegetable oil salvaging truck also.

surprising (a little) but it's honest. And that's what's best. Really gives the next person a solid point of reference. Nice work!

That transmission is very easy to wire the overdrive to a switch. That’s what I did to my suburban.

"Always straight pipe your Harley"

Said by the guy with a (straight pipe) out the hood, right off his turbo.

I have a 78 F100. I want to swap it to 4x4 with OBS F250 front and rear axles. Would also love to swap it to diesel. Going to be a slow and tedious project

Nice to know I wasn't too far off when I figured I'd need around $7k. I'm wanting to do a Cummins swap with a late 60's-70's ford f100.

I got a mint 79 f150 body for $800 so that $4500 for a body is a stretch

I have a 76 custom cab in pretty good condition and a factory Cummins ( not out of a dodge)
I want a forever solid simple Ranch truck one problem is the old ford is 2wd.
Can it be modified to 4wd?
Are you interested in the job? Also could make a YouTube collab if the build

If anyone in minnesota has a lift that I can use I got a 2003 Kodiak Wrecker I’m rebuilding a bit and I would love to swap the trans and put a 5.9 p pump in it instead of that POs dirtymax, this would be my first Cummins swap so I’m looking for help. Anyone have suggestions what shops would help me with this near Wisconsin Iowa or MN
