Title should say 5 year old case gets new parts

Screw all that, find a used i7 to throw in there, get a more reliable PSU and blow the rest of the budget on a high end GPU. Job done, best bang per buck.

I think you would see pretty similar numbers in games if you just replaced the Radeon GPU with the 1050Ti and left the 3570k.

$550 for old system
$600 for upgrading
Why didn't you built entirely new system instead.🤐

I probably would have just upgraded the gpu, power supply, and maybe the case.

Why didn't you upgrade just the GPU or picked up a used I7 3770k cpu? Would have been cheaper since you wouldn't need to buy DDR4 RAM and a whole new platform.

That's not an upgrade, that's just reusing the case and power supply for a new build.

Add an i7-3770k and 1060 and call it day. Ryzen 5 with 16GB of ram makes no sense with a 1050Ti

9:13 on old PC it says "DDR4" I'm pretty sure it’s surposed to say "DDR3"

i would just upgrade the GPU, like 1060 cuz that i5 is good and 16gb ram is great and ram is not very cheap

More like "I build new pc in craigslist case"

Honestely getting a gtx 1060 for ~300 bucks would have been better and faster in the tested bencmarks. This is not really upgrading a pc but just keeping the case and psu in my opinion. The cpu can definitly go for a few a few more years.

Thanks and sorry. Replacing everything and keeping only the case is not an upgrade!

No need to upgrade CPU, Motherboard and Rams. Power supply good enough. Overclock the CPU and Upgrade the GPU. Buy used cheap GTX 1060. That’s it. Best bang for your buck.

Thats not an upgrade, its literally a whole new pc

You swapped out the motherboard, CPU, *and* GPU... That's not an upgrade, that's a replacement.

...you're essentially building a new PC when you're replacing the mobo, CPU and ram... :/

Why not change the i5 to an i7 of the same Generation or even keep it, its not to bad... So with the 1600 you have to buy a new mobo and DDR4 wich is still way to expensive and when your on a budget that is just dumb, when you have 16gb of DDR3. Go with a 1060 or even 1070 with the budget of 600$.
You did not really upgrade a PC you build a new one except drives, shitty old power supply and the case. Thats not really how a pc upgrade works if you ask me...
Also the ram you are showing is DDR4 3200Mhz not 2400 as you said.

a little disapionting this video.

Why not get a used 3770k, Seasonic Focus Plus 550w PSU, an SSD and a used GTX 980ti all in for ~$450?
