Top 10 Worst States in America for 2021

It is that time of the year where we rank our US states and figure out which are the worst for the new year. In 2021 we had a few new entries.
This year we made the ranking simple. We have added up how all 50 states ranked in subjects that are most often researched by people looking to relocate to a new state. Crime, Economy, Healthcare, and Education. If they were the best state at one of those they got 1 point. If they were the worst state they got 50 points. So we just added up their points and ranked them by the highest being the worst. Simple. Hope you enjoy this video about the worst states in America for 2021.

The toothbrush was invented in alabama. If it had been invented anywhere else they would have called it a teethbrush.

You should do a "best/worst place to live in every state" video.

50th in education. Yup, that's all you really need to know about my state of AL.

I wanted to see where Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana ranked, so I skipped to the end.

Leaving Louisiana was the best decision I’ve ever made

Of course Louisiana is #1. Even hurricanes hate us more than Florida.

From Alabama here and thank you for saying nice things about us. Darn those stats! We are great people and are very welcoming. Maybe one day we will turn it around but I’m not holding my breath! Your videos are very interesting! Thank you!

🥰🥰🥰 Thank you for promoting it! I love both channels. Your other channel is like a secret bonus! It was on my suggested list and I was shocked and excited to hear your voice. Love your content, it’s such a great distraction from reality. Stay safe. 💜

I deliver to Louisiana a lot. The best food is usually served in the worst looking restaurants. It’s like a scene from Harold and Kumar, the outside looks horrible but the inside is perfect.

Oklahoma isn't "known for" being the land of the red man so much as Oklahoma quite literally translates to land of the red man in Cherokee!

Finally New Mexico is being recognized as a bad state! Too many people ignore the bad stuff and I genuinely don’t get why. This state needs help and it seems like those in power just don’t want to do anything to actually help.

That's why the call the waterways Bayous in Louisiana, if you piss off a Cajun, they take you to the water and say "Bye - you" .

Both of my parents are school teachers, and teach in Mississippi. I'm pretty sure when they "retire" they're just going to cross into Alabama and work there. This is pretty common for teachers where I live. I think it's crazy because we score higher in education than Alabama, but our teachers get paid worse. We also don't have the supplies nor do we ever really have opportunities like other states.

Thanks for your awesome videos, Briggs - As an Australian window-shopping for a place to settle in the U.S. eventually your research, insight and comment sections are excellent resources. Though I'm still not much closer to a decision, myself and the missus will be doing a mainland states roadtrip for our honeymoon to help decide. Videos like these definitely help populate the 'no' pile though!

it seems that the southern states never really recovered from the civil war....

As a resident of Arkansas...can confirm your analysis. As an Alabama native...can confirm your analysis.
