I've been in the maritime industry my whole life. i have family and friends all in maritime industry and navy and merchant marines. from current back to ww2 and i have never once heard your representation of the "nautical star" its the north star or guiding light its a symbol of hope that guides you home or to port. but i think you know that and this is rage baiting which if so good work! :D

It's not remember to die. It's remember you will die. Very subtle vocabulary change. HUGE difference in meaning. It's not crazy to get both of those tattooed, as together they mean "remember to live, because death is certain" They're actually my next piece. One on each arm

Nautical star tattoos have never been used to identify as gay in the 80s & 90s. Thats what the pink triangle was for prior to that & why Act Up also used it. You don't look old enough to have been around then. I was

The nautical star was a navy tattoo design used really big in the 50s and 60s not on gay men. It was a standard tattoo that you got that show that she was a sailor

The nautical star is a symbolic star representing the North Star, associated with the sea services of the United States armed forces and with tattoo culture. It is usually rendered as a five-pointed star in dark and light shades counterchanged in a style similar to a compass rose

A sailor nautical star tattoo typically represents the North Star, symbolizing guidance, protection, and the ability to find one's way home, as sailors historically used the North Star for navigation at sea; essentially meaning it helps them stay on course and find their way back to port

The nautical star is primarily for sailers who went on a voyage (yes we still call them voyages) and made it back home

Nautical star was also used by butch lesbians, in similar place and size to gay men to hide them under wristwatches as well.
