I've had this camera for just over 3 months and I think it's a good time for a review. This video hopefully helps you decide if this budget beast is for you.

Man the dynamic range out of this thing is TOO IMPRESSIVE. Your footage is gorgeous bro so so good. This image quality is on par with any good 10bit codec. Good choice on this one man, its an amazing camera for the price, impressive is the word.

Thanks man! Great intro! EM5 Mark III user here, it has almost identical features. Love both cameras, I`m noticing too, the greenish skintones when using natural color profile, I find: portrait color profile works best for skintones. Not using flat anymore... doesn`t seem to make a big difference in dynamic range... instead I set: highlights curve to -7 and shadows curve +4 in camera and it stays there all the time. And shooting wide open or a pro mist 1/8 or 1/4 makes a big difference for a more natural look with a sharp lens.

Thanks for this great review, you really got these colours right. I bought a used one in perfect condition from MPB and am still on a learning curve. One needs to tame this camera and get to know the menus, but then one gets a lot in return. Yes, the GH6 has this plethora of resolutions and frame rates, but the EM1-II is plenty enough for my amateur needs. I love it.

Great video thanks; learnt a lot; where did you get your camera from? I used to have an Olympus E-1 then a E-3 but sold it to buy other things. Now I'm back in the market and the EM1 Mark 2 looks nice.

Fab video, great footage! You really encouraged me to use my EM1 ii for videography, thanks for that mate! I just ordered the cage bits as per your earlier video with the cheap half-cage. Can't wait to get started. Last week attended one of those free and cool Resolve 4-day trainings and did another about Resolve Colour Management. Feel I am ready to get started.

07:26 This is the theory I have been playing with lately. Underexposing in OM-Log400 to not blow out the highlights and then lifting the shadows in post.

I misplaced my Panasonic G9 and was looking for an inexpensive replacement body. I looked at the EM1 Mii. There was a Craigslist body listed for $550. I asked if they would take less and was told no. I continued watching craigslist daily and picked up a good condition EM1 Mii with a 2nd Olympus battery with a charger for $400! I jumped on that deal.

Have the body in a bag. Awaiting some time to set the camera settings. Mostly do photography with some short video clips. I’m sure I bought a good body at a good price for what I do and want to do.

The GH6 will Have external Raw just like the GH5s has external Raw, the question is when will it be available, as it took 4 years to get external raw on the Gh5s, personally i think its better to get panasonic cameras at the end of there life cycle and not at the begining as most of the best features wont be available till later on. Just food for thought.
