He's not running. If you pause the game at the right angle, you can actually catch a glimpse of him absolutely shredding it on a tiny skateboard

This is WHY I love bowser, if you lose, its because your character is bad, and if you win, its because your opponent is bad.

Extra info: With a lower port than his opponent (P1 being the lowest), Bowser has 20 frames of grab release frames, giving opponents with a frame 1 invincible option a technical out from a perfectly performed pseudo-chaingrab that isn't just holding up. However, with a higher port (P4 being the highest) Bowser has only 19 frames of grab release frames, making the pseudo-chaingrab truly inescapable (other than just holding up lol) even for characters with options like shine, rest, screw attack, etc. Also, some characters like G&W slide too far away after a grab release for the pseudo-chaingrab to be true, even if they don't hold up upon a grab release.

Fun fact: if you grab with his forward b Koopa Claw the opponent will always be put in grounded release allowing you to always get another grab off

i would love to hear an Official Explanation regarding Bowser's "dash animation"...i mean, its almost like they wanted him to retract into his shell (similar to the Blue Shell powerup from more-recent Mario games) but i think that an Attacking Dash wouldve been too OP (which is why its merely a Spirit Effect, in Ultimate) so they cut the last frames, leaving his limbs outside and with no hitbox, but still the goofy little shell-scoot...

...thats my GUESS, with absolutely NO evidence to support any of it, so PLEASE prove me wrong...

More info on Bowser’s grab release: Grounded koopa claw to dash regrab is true but can only be used once in a chaingrab. Grab release can also true combo into uptilt, up b, f-tilt and shield drop fair depending on the character and whether or not you’re on the ground or platform.

I mean it makes sense that he "runs" like that...

He has a Shell™, and what do Shells™ do? They glide!

In this game and any other Nintendo game where you can find a Shell™ they do that thing where they move without touching the ground, even when the creature is still inside, just like Bowser does.

the funniest thing about this is that even without the holding up thing it would still be ass bc bowsers grab hitbox is so completely dogshit so landing the intial grab would be extremely hard

You'd be surprised how many people didn't realize this and just panicked back in the day when MagnuM was tearin' em up Bowser style on the tournament scene. Good memories.
