Atheists Will NEVER Tell You This About Fossilization

Fossilization had to be catastrophic, virtually instant, and rapid. We can be certain that the great majority of earth’s sedimentary rock layers and their contained fossils are the result of the global flood.

I don't see what this has to do with atheism or religion

We live in such a geologically peaceful time, that we don't appreciate the catastrophe-laden history of the earth.

This guy answered his own question at the end. It was indeed "rapidly and catastrophically buried".

To everyone missing the point... This incident refers to the flooding of our entire world as described in the history of almost every culture on Earth. This flood did not simply consist of intense global rain but the release of great springs, forcing the movement of multiple tectonic plates and completely changing our geographical landscape by splitting pangea into the separate landmasses we see today.

This is all described in a wonderful book called the Bible.

Reminds me of Pompei and how those people were fossilized in a similar, yet almost immediate, manner.

As a paleontology student these animals died in very sudden ways, we know this by the trauma on the bones of these animals.

The fish put more in it's mouth than it could swallow and that killed it. I have found dead fish floating in the water in the exact same circumstance, it certainly happens. There's no mystery here.

Atheist here: The catastrophic deaths of the samples here were largely from the Green River Formation ( Wyoming) killed during the Paleocene Eocene Thermal Maximum, when global warming and volcanic activity ( in what is now Wyoming / Montana) released methane frozen below the surface of inland seas. The methane ‘blasts’ that percolated to the surface and into the atmosphere - instantly killed millions of fish and other aquatic creatures.

And this has what to do with religion?

Science isn't for those who only read one work of fiction.

The atheist community appreciates you talking about fossils.

Of the millions of fossils found, a very small percent are of such high quality, and only a few of those catch a critical instant that teaches us about their lives

Interesting. All I know is that we have been systematically lied to about virtually everything in this world. The truth will soon be revealed to us all

For those who screaming science... Science is just a tool not an entity..! Science can't explain why questions 😊

It’s amazing how people (on both sides) still can’t seem to understand, you can have abstract belief in God while still accepting mainstream science and rejecting religious fundamentalism

You want a paleontologist, not an atheist.

Fish often choke on their meals and anything can die giving birth to live young. I'm not an atheist, but I know nature is very mysterious and we've barely even scratched the surface.

This is why we don't have fossils of the vast vast majority of life on Earth because fossilization has very specific circumstances for it to happen.

Just because you don't understand it doesn't mean God did it. It means you don't understand.

Geology student here. Fish can bite off more than they can chew and die like that, and it’s not all that uncommon. The fish may have come to rest on the sea floor, possibly in an area with a relatively low oxygen content where decomposition would occur far slower, and was buried in sediment. There are a few processes that can cause rapid burial of an organism which might increase the chance of fossilization. If you look at sea floor maps, especially near continental shelves or slopes, there is evidence of this kind of thing happening everywhere. Underwater avalanches of sand, mud, and silt that take many aquatic organisms with them. You can also find evidence of past occurrences in sedimentary rock from an environment that used to be a sea floor, which will be full of marine fossils despite now being on land.
