To make 7.5, which is a decimal to 7:30 as hours and minutes, you simple divide 7.5 by 24 and format the cells as h:mm.

Thanks Chris, Nice keyboard commands.
I do have a system where I just put in numbers for start and finish time (e.g 730 instead of 7.5) and the spreadsheet does the rest. Entering information is simple in my system but it does require a commencement date to set it up. The date is combined with the start and end time to accommodate night shift workers.

Also, how would you ignore if it's a negative number when totaling hours (i.e. the employee is over time.)
