Captain Shack dying in an attempt of Kuat is probably the best death he’s had in all your campaigns. Was the backbone of the assault

The heroic sacrifice of the Liberation will never be forgotten.

-same guy who lost the liberation to a single gozanti

I feel like a really cool idea would be that Shack escaped the Liberation's destruction via escape pod and made it to the surface, expected a ground assault to pick him up and watched Vader's fleet decimate his battlegroup. Afterwards he gets captured by security forces and sent to the ISB for interrogation.

I feel like that might be an interesting dynamic for Shed to play off of. That and I kinda wanna see Shack interrogating himself 🤣🤣

"GENTLEMEN. Today marks a grand day in the history of the Empire. Where we were caught off guard at the brazen attack on our shipyards at Kuat, losing thousands of loyal Imperial personnel, we have gained an unparalleled opportunity. Half a dozen Mon Cala battleships were reduced to scrap in orbit by our fleet, with support from our brave surface gunners, drastically reducing the Rebels' firepower. Their leadership now lies under our blockade on Commenor. NOW is the time to press our advantage, while the dissidents reel from the blow they have been dealt. The rebels thought audacity would bring them victory; it has wrought their DOOM! NEVER AGAIN!!"

Rebels: Let's attack Kuat
Takes 80% Casualties after the battle against just space stations and sector fleet
Rebels: At least the sacrifice was worth it!
Queue Boss music as Darth motherf***ing Vader shows up with a full Imperial Fleet....

Though the Maw Research Station was lost, the Rebels have paid DEARLY for it. An entire fleet was annihilated over Kuat basically. The Rebels lost Adar Talon, Juno Eclipse, Captain Shack, that Hero in the CR-90 that flew into the middle of your Imperial fighter swarm who's name I can't remember, and over Commenor Kota, R2, and 3PO were killed with Leia, Han, Chewie, and 2 very significant infantry groups locked down with them on the surface of Commenor and also on Cato Neimoidia. Obviously the Droids respawn but still, an absolutely crushing blow to the Rebel scum, due to Lord Vader's leadership I say!

I thought about commenting on the last episode "And in the next episode the rebellion attacks Kuat"...

That first battle was so freaking crazy. The Imperials bunkering down and just spraying whatever they can spray up into the sky and duck and diving and dodging for cover as wave after wave of gunships strafe.

About the repairs, all ships above corvette and some larger fighters/gunships have a small repair rate simulating the crews on the ships

INN News Report:
Champala: Brave imperial soldiers valiantly defended Champala from *vicious pirates* and *Mandalorian mercenaries, * but they were tragically overwhelmed by the *sheer number* of enemy combatants and their *overwhelming aerial advantage.* Despite all this, reports indicate our boys in gray fought to their last breaths and that the criminal combatants took *heavy losses.* This ruthless attack *will not go unpunished, * and General Veers was quick to respond to our army correspondent's inquiries, stating that Champala will be liberated from these pirates as soon as possible.

Kuat: In a shocking turn of events, Kuat Drive Yards was *attacked by treacherous terrorists* calling themselves the 'Alliance to Restore the Republic'. These terrorists appear to have been led by a coalition of former Republic and Imperial officers, but their vicious attack today has resulted in any of their prior honours and heroics to be considered null and void, as not only were active imperial military ships destroyed, but also ships still under construction containing *thousands of non-combatant workers.* These ships put up a valiant defense, but they were *ruthlessly destroyed* by the Alliance.

Despite this, Rebel forces took *heavy losses, * and Imperial forces under Lord Vader were quick to respond, not only crushing the Rebels at Kuat, but pushing into rebel-occupied space controlled by *notorious Jedi war criminal Rahm Kota* and destroying a *secret space station* providing the rebels with capital ship schematics. Combined with reports given by one Admiral Ozzel, this *new evidence implicates the Mon Calamari government* as being one of several major contributors to the Alliance, which, given their previous acts of treason, would be frankly unsurprising to this reporter.

I'd suggest dedicating a small force to Ilum and Jedha to the west of the core; those planets are easy to take, can be mined, and are easy to hold since they are far away from front lines. They can really expand your economy

[ Personal Log ]
[ Subject: Vicke Pallas, 457th Imperial TIE Squadron, No. 4 ]
[ Assigned to Gozanti-Class "Seveneer" ]

"An Imperial Nightmare"

The Rebellion took one hell of a move not long ago. For a while, we thought Kuat was safe, being a major shipyard world, as well as being far away from any active frontline. That was apparently the farthest from the truth as you could ever get. A massive rebel fleet, whose size is debated among the squadron, left Commenor to make a move against the shipyards while our fleets were spread out. We were already on the way to reinforce Kuat in case of potential invasion when we heard the distress calls.

When we got there, there was barely anything imperial left. The stations were no more, and the ring was being fought over on the inside. Luckily, we were winning. There were still rebel ships in orbit, those shield projector ships that they seem to love. Got a real good look at the shield generator on that thing during a strafing run. The squadron had their first run in with X-Wings too. Not like the odd one we fought recently. Foulke and Kears managed to bag one each while Reagel and I baited the rest into the Seveneer's guns. I think Rienn on an AA gun shot down the X-Wing on my six. We'd then provided a bit of air support on the ring itself, which was frankly a much more exhausting job than you'd think.

We got rest, yes. All 14 hours of downtime before we'd move on and hit Commenor as revenge. It seems the rebels were getting ready to send reinforcements to Kuat, having all those transports in space. Surprisingly, it was Vader himself who ordered the squadron to go for the transports, not one of the other captains who usually orders Parrel around. I guess we're getting recognized. Reagel and Foulke covered us while me and Kears did the dirty work.

We're currently above Cato Nemoidia. The fleet shows up, rebels ran with their tail between their legs. Parrel's currently making calculations for the jump back to Commenor to aid the invasion. Well, guess you can't really rest in times like these. Vicke Pallas, out.

I think the Ground to Orbit Turbolaser in the second Kuat battle was hitting the Kuat Shipyards Ring model. You can catch it at the top of the screen at 37:08.

Imp Rep 11 - The operations to secure Imperial holdings in the core have continued but have progressed in a way that has provided a lot of stress. Mostly because of the fact that Rebels did not grant the Empire time to essentially crush their isolated bases one at a time. In fact, they took a very proactive stance and attacked from Commenor and right into the heart of the Empire's industrial base at Kaut. They came in with a large capital ship fleet of multiple well shielded Mon Calamari cruisers and one aging Venator... From reports, these ships also seemed to execute a rather effective plan that allowed them to whittle down much of the garrison in space over Kaut... Their fleet took heavy losses and in fact lost all but a couple of their Mon Calamari ships, but they also destroyed our garrison in orbit and secured the orbit. From data banks, the garrison should have been able to survive such an attack based on known data on the weapons output from these ships... Which means that there is a problem in either Imperial technology or tactics to overcome this issue, particularly if the Rebels have found a competent way to protect their weaker ships from our ISDs.

However, while there is some frustration at the loss of the garrison over Kuat, Lord Vader is confident that all that has done in the long term is by the Rebels time. For we arrived at Kuat shortly after and finished off the ships that survived the attack on the planet. We've then launched punitive attacks on the orbits of the two neighboring Rebel worlds at Commenor and Cato Neimodia. They were relatively easily won, and the fleet took out at least one important research station for the Rebellion, and it is to this that Lord Vader has pointed to for the Imperial victory. For while the shipyard at Kuat was lost, the main research and designs were not and thus once reconstructed, Kuat will be back up and running in no time. The Rebellion, meanwhile, will be rebuilding their research and design tree for quite a while and giving us time to assemble the forces needed to take down the Rebels on Commenor and Cato Neimodia. - Ensign Iam Minion.

The Mon Cala Warship 2 that Vader blew up above Cato Neimoidia is what allowed them to build the bubble ships so there is a finite supply of them before the Rebels build it again.
