"I have you spying on the Wheel" Stationing Solo on a space casino and expecting intel reports instead of nonstop requests for additional funds is a bold strategy.

You need carriers, the empire has reached a point where they can out swarm your fighters, you simply can't bring enough with the individual squadrons and you spend to much money replacing them when they die.

Poor Ace got ignored till the very end. Never even let him do his mission.

In raw numbers I’m pretty sure close to half a million people died over muunilist alone this episode with those 6 or so star destroyers and their entire support fleet. The rebel fleet also added about a hundred thousand dead as well in that battle. Brutal stuff, madine is not afraid to watch rebel ships burn alongside star destroyers.

A major plus to the MC80 winged over the dauntless is it doesn't have shield or engine subsystems to target last minute during a retreat. That, combined with it's ability to fire and move decently quick makes it pretty lethal as long as you don't leave it alone

Rebel One absolutely cleaned house against all the Victory Star Destroyers, everyone on that ship deserves a raise

Shack consider focusing all the rebellions remaining firepower on the wheel, you can recover with the help of Home One and Admiral Ackbar!

4:07 the “amount 2” on the AAC isn’t a limit for how many you can have, it’s how many AACs are in each company

The rebellion lost a lot of heroes today. RIP.

You can build tibanna gas at Yavin + Zhar. I know the Zhar mission is annoying. But more Tibanna will allow you to build up the fleets again :)

You can't rely solelly on Dauntlesses, you will need the mon calamari line up.

Shack, at the Muunilist space battle, you had a secondary objective. The empire hit your station while you had an income generating convoy in orbit (which spawns as a collection of 3-5 slow moving freighters). On the mini map, there was a blinking green spot where, if you sent your freighters there, they would jump to hyperspace and you wouldn’t lose the unit. It’s also why all of your units were moving so slow to start, because your ships matched their speed to the slow as heck freighters

most of the fighter battles you did were under heavy enemy flak fire, while being outnumbered in squadrans. this is largely why so many of the fighter fights were lost. carriers and galleons are flak boats. galleons and carriers can also repair fighters and increase their fire rate. galleons can also deploy even more flak turrets. the correct answer to this would have been picket/screener focus.

Shack didn’t you capture a venator recently? Attach em to the carrier fleet!

Rogue Squadron Journal
Week 144 - Dathomir
Lt. Witton Bogre - Rogue 4

The Imperial offensive in the Galactic North has been halted, however the cost to do so was steep. It is now clear that the skirmishes around Scipio were only probing attacks, meant to test our defense's and grind down our fleet in preparation for a full-blown offensive. Just days after our raid at Aridus, we received word that an Admiral Daala had launched fast and brutal attacks on Muunilinst and Dathomir. Having been caught off guard, command ordered the majority of the Home Fleet north to assist. While we were in route, Crix Madine took his fleet to stem the tide at Muunilinst. I'm told it was a hard fought victory that cost us many lives to achieve.

Despite the heavy losses, the Empire was driven from the system. Wanting to follow up the success, upon arriving in the region we were quickly ordered to move against Daala's fleet at Dathomir. Believing that our force held a decisive advantage in fighter squadrons, the carriers moved in and we deployed. Unfortunately we were quickly proven wrong. Daala had done her research on us well and soon we found ourselves almost completely undone. Instead of the standard line of Imperial Ties, we found ourselves heavily engaged by Tie Hunters that easily matched or even exceeded our T-65's. We lost many good piolts, including Bravo Flight, learning that. Unable to cover Gold Squadron, they weren't able to make their bombing runs on the destoryers that were closing on the carriers. A swift retreat was all we could manage.

Before we left we received a message from the Admiral. Telling us that Grand Moff Tarkin sends his regards, and that the rebel criminals, Rogue Squadron, would pay harshly for his death and the sacking of his home on Eriadu. Understanding the threat Daala posed, and the need for her immediate removal, we regrouped with Crix Madine and tried again.

This time we found that she had been reinforced by another battle group and had consolidated her position along the main Hyper-lane. Knowing that she needed to be stopped now or never, we committed. Attempting to use the nearby nebula to cover our advance and outmaneuver the destoryers, Daala once again disrupted our plans. Determining what our strategy was she deployed her fleet in a blockade of the nebula, blind and unaware we rushed headlong into the grinder. Caught between a rock and a Rancor, it was almost like I was back with Blue Squadron over Scariff. Unable to retreat due to the Nebula, we had no choice but to engage.

Things quickly devolved into chaos. With the recent loss of so many piolts in the previous battle it was mostly left up to Rogue, Green, and Saber squadrons to pick up the slack. Outnumbered and outgunned there was little we could do against the swarms of hunters and bombers that ripped through the fleet. Despite our extreme losses we did a number on the Imps too, eventually forcing an opening in the blockade. Allowing Gold Squadron to finally begin their deadly work on the remaining destoryers. With the majority Rogue Squadron down and our munitions spent, our beat up X-wings just weren't cutting it. So those of us left hurriedly rushed to Dodonna's ship and traded our broken X-wings for A-wings. It was a back and forth duel with Daala after that point but eventually, thanks to Captain Shack and Rebel One both broadsiding her Destoryer, she was sent screaming into the void to join Tarkin.

A pyrrhic victory in every sense of the word. The fleet had projected losses of upwards of 70%. Most notably among our capital ships and fighter squadrons. Rogue Squadron alone has lost nearly half of it's original strength. I dread to think how others fared. Something is going to have to change. These kinds of battles are not something the Rebellion can afford to have anymore. Such a high tuition, for such a meager lesson.

I think it’s healthy to have a combination of dauntless and mc80 liberties. Think of it like this, the dauntless has to get close so It’s basically gonna be alpha striked the whole time it’s moving into position. With mc80s you’re able to take advantage of this and have a defensive line that supports both your forward ships and keeps the enemy from running around to your back line. It’s battle ship role is accurate, it’s able to get all it’s guns into fire and start picking away while your brawlers tank.
