Hello everyone and welcome to my latest book review - a non-fiction book(!) - Ideas to Save Your Life by Michael McGirr.

Lots of interesting reflections and life stories shared in this book interwoven with the lives and works of philosophers. I enjoyed this book because it had questions to make us think deeply about our life and what impact we make on others through our own skills and talents.

Over to you. Share your answers to the following life's questions:

(a) Where is the well in your village?
(b) What do you do to keep/maintain your own "well"?
(c) What's more important to you: Well Being or Well Finding (finding yourself)?
(d) Are you the same person today as you were seven years ago?

Happy pondering! (and reading :-)

I like the idea of this book. I have heard of his other book and have wanted to read it. It sounds like he's an author I need to keep an eye on. I will be checking out both books.

Thank you for this video.
I have changed a lot these past six years. I wss in the middle of my degree, and I imagined myself as an editorial designer with a lot of books by my side. Today, I finished another degree, I am having a role as a 3d designer, and I do also have let social media behind me, thanks to the book Digital Minimalism. Six years ago, I used to post stories about almost everything I do, and today, proudly, I do not.
We'll see what happens six years from now. Maybe I will move to Australia.
And I cant avoid it, but I found a little bit uneasy the reflection of the ring lamp in your glasses. :S

Thanks Helen . This reminds me of that 7-year cycle you discussed in your video: The Heart’s Invisible Furies by John Boyne. My thinking has changed quite a bit over 7 years - so interesting to reflect on the previous versions of ourselves isn't it? The added idea that the cells in our bodies are constantly regenerating as the formation of that change has now sent me down a little thought spiral😆 Although the love of tactile, print resources still rings true for me, I do love some ideas that technology brings to us - although not always for good but it leaves me intrigued. AI has certainly stirred my thoughts around technology up quite a bit!

Hey Helen, great to see you're diving into philosophy! Any plans to explore Plato and Nietzsche as well?
