Another extremely dangerous predator that appeared in North America towards the end of the Pleistocene period was Homo Sapiens (humans) Armed with large brains, these fellas were able to devise new weapons and techniques to not only take down their prey, but also defend themselves against potential predators. They also proved to be quite adaptable, and may or may not have played a role in the extinction of most North American megafauna (large animals)
