I think Splett becoming a really good president was such a sweet undertone to the finale.

This finale was so profoundly sad to me, but so fitting. I couldnt help but feel terribly for Gary and, to an extent, Selina. That last shot of her alone in the oval was so incredible.

I'm so happy Mike got out of that toxic environment and became a succesful anchor for CBS. He and Richard were the most likeable characters on the show.

Veep is one of the smartest comedies of all time. I can't believe is so underrated when the humor is so sharp and witty.

Veep is a personal favorite of mine because it embodied the sheer decadence of our political system in a way that was funny and didn’t insult its viewers’ intelligence.

Gary was her soul. I never thought of it like that. Makes so much sense!

The fact that this woman starred in two of the largest American comedies in history is wild.

You know Selina's character arch is kind of like Daenerys Targaryen's done right.

Was happy to see Richard Splett succeed in the end

The part that gets me is that Gary totally would have taken the blame willingly if she'd just asked him to do it. All the insults and bad decisions amounted to Selina Meyer becoming the villain.

I never thought of Amy, Kent or Dan's ending as depressing. I truly think they just embodied who they were. Amy and Dan may have loved each other, even briefly, but they would have made a miserable couple and awful parents (Amy would not have enjoyed being a mother.) Kent has a child working in NASA and lives on a farm with his wife, away from politics and living simply - he won. It was only Gary who I really felt for. I do believe he and Selina were twisted soulmates in a sense.

selina sacrificing gary is a sinister version of 'you have to sacrifice the thing you love the most to achieve your dream' and i'm here for it
great parallel to a supervillain's arc. now that i'm seeing it in these terms, the whole show seems darker. but it makes sense. after all, the most dangerous supervillains are the ones with no values and a thirst for more power

take note Game of Thrones. THIS is how you end a series in a satisfying way.

Rewatching the show, it's pretty obvious that Gary is both a victim and an enabler of Selina's malignant narcissism. He's a tragic figure, but definitely not a good guy. The way he treats Catherine is very telling in that regard.

Jeez, the end of season 6 was so optimistic.... then I was crushed with the final episode of season 7.... A real lesson learned

The scene where Selina is sitting all alone staring at the oval office and questioning all the choices she made that lead her to that chair is GOLD. It summarized Selina's whole journey. The legacy and position she so badly wanted and got... but what does it mean without anyone to support and cheer her. She lost her daughter, Gary, Amy, Kent and Mike. She's all alone
