I nearly cried during this scene. Her and Gary. It was perfectly written and executed. There was a brief moment when Selina was human. When she realises Gary was the only person who actually cared.

It's the scene following this where she all alone in The Oval Office with no one around that it dawns on her what she has done, then it's just the icing on the cake that her funeral is forgotten about when it's annouced Tom Hanks has died. It's the perfect ending for such a despicable character.

“*And there’s nothing anyone can do to stop me* ...from standing and walking for my country” right after Gary is hauled off. Whoever wrote the screenplay for that scene isn’t getting paid enough.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Tony Hale knocked it out of the park on this episode. This scene is funny and heartbreaking at the same time

The split of a second where her eyes were torn between being attached and moving forward... it's really heart-breaking. Perfectly executed by Julia.

This was horrible and perfect. Writing is on point.

The intricate detail in this scene is when Selina was called on stage she was hugging Gary and she directly just turn around towards the stage. She didn't have the courage to see his face on last time. She too somewhere loved her.

Honestly I agree with the idea that Selena sacrificed more than anyone. There is no part of Selena that is Selena. She gave her all to politics to the point that she is nothing without it. Her every thought, idea, and whim is solely on the basis of popularity, and that is very sad indeed.

The fact that this satirical comedy had a more fluid, satisfying character arc of a woman in power becoming corrupt than Danaerys in GoT just goes to show the difference good writing can make.

After Ben told her she knows what to do, and she yelled at Amy to get Jonah as her Veep. I knew she was gonna destroy lives, never thought it would be Gary thou.

This video is the last push I needed to rewatch the whole show.

You can almost feel the metaphorical knife in Gary's back in this scene. 🔪

The timing in this scene was perfect. Selina starts talking about 'sacrificing' and there comes the FBI to get Gary

For me, this ending was EPIC! If I could, I would have ended the episode with her looking sad sitting in the Oval Office. We wouldn’t know what happened in her future years. We would just notice how miserable she was and how power corrupted her. It’s like a comedy House of Cards, with a woman being the center and with a better script.

"I couldn't have done it without you..." "I'm not going anywhere..." Has there ever been filmed a more ruthlessly sardonic and yet earnestly moving exchange?

The things we do for power. This show had an amazing ending. Selina is a full antihero.

This was the scene that killed her character for me. Up until then I’d rooted for her, wanted her to be good.
Spectacular writing.
