This Is WHY 2.5/10GbE SWITCHES Are AMAZING! — QNAP QSW-2104-2T

Today, as a total network rookie, I will briefly discuss the topic of why a 2.5 or 10GbE network switch is so amazing and can be a true lifesaver in many use cases.
In my case the main thing benefiting from such a switch is my own personal NAS, which, using such a high-performance switch, even enables data transfers at 10Gb/s and 2.5Gb/s with several PCs connected, simultaneously.
Today the spotlight is on a very specific switch, that I have been eyeing for a long time — the QNAP QSW-2104-2T.
It is a nice, compact, fanless device. Could this be the ideal switch for one's NAS when a little more performance is required? Using my personal example, I will show you why I couldn't do without such a switch, and all from the perspective of a network layman, who I undoubtedly am. You really don't need to worry about the setup procedure.

What are your thoughts on network switches in general? Do you use any, and if so, what kind of speeds? 😅😁
Are 1Gbps / 2.5Gbps good enough for you or do you absolutely need to have 10Gbps like me? 🤔😂

I have had mine for about ~2 years now. Unfortunately mine needs to be mounted vertically in order to work properly otherwise it might enter a deadlock. (The switch get's very hot) Apart from that it has worked perfectly.

Is your nas made up of normal hard drives or are they all nvme ? Wouldn't the performance be limited by the limitations of normal mechanical hard drives?

i'm ok with hybrid switches like these. some devices will be bottlenecked at 2.5gbe anyway, so not everything needs 10g necessarily. my question is, how much? when it comes down to it, that is what matters for this whether it's a good deal or not.
