The kitchen tap dripping at the end tells me that he will again be wanting more and try to take someone else's place again.

I'm 15 minutes into the film and I'm impressed by its emotional depth.

The ending was very unrealistic. Bcoz Lara should certainly have recognized about something being wrong with the spray. No one is so naive considering the circumstances as the spray was given to her persuasively. Anyways post-mortem report of Tomas would also have revealed that the chemical sprayed on Tomas' face contained peanut extract. Plus Marga independently could have told Lara to stay away from Javier even if she didn't choose to go formally to the Police. There are a few other loopholes also.

I’m so upset that the wife allowed a master manipulator into her home! How could you believe a random over your own husband!

I really felt sad for Tomas, finally he was sober and was going all good then came Javier.. he always plays this role like prying and stalking on his neighbours just like in the movie motive, but the Mexican neighbours were way ahead of Javier. Lol.

This movie really pissed me off. Like I was legitimately heated. The entire time i was hoping Javier would get caught for all of his bs but nope. Hell i would have even been happy if he got caught due to the gardener getting involved. All I can say is poor Tomas man, he ain’t deserve that. And yes I’m aware that not all movies have a happy ending but that’s irrelevant. I’m not the type to root for villains and I get attached to characters fairly easily and so the fact that Javier got away with what he did really irritated me.

At first i thought he was just trying to get a job not steal his whole life

I think what frustrates me the most about the ending is that he shows no sign of the slightest remorse in any of this and probably never will. He's a full on psychopath.

Don't always expect for happy endings!! Evil ppl are happier and successful in the real world while honest and good ppl are still struggling. Dam I loved this 😍 😍 😍

I found it amazing how Javier (the Tormentor) stood-up in the AA Meeting and spoke-on how a man losing his wife and daughter was all part of his own Mastermind Plot!! The suspense of how Javier was going to get caught keeps viewers on the edge of their seat b/c dude is relentless. Hating the massacre of "Nice Guys Finish' last, this is the perfect precursor for writers to take their time and make a Part-2 with Crafty Snares that will make everyone go back to this one...just to get the thrills and chills on how Part 2 will bring Javier to his knees b/c his Acts and Actions are just too sinister to get away with everything he did!!! Losing his job and not getting recognition for his talents is indeed horrific in reality--but then to envision oneself to living the life of another and swapping families to-the-point of abandoning your own son...HAS CONSEQUENCES...and that's REAL as well as an inescapable form of Reality!!! That ending TRULY PISSED ME OFF!!

The ending is actually much more realistic than most movie endings imo.
That's the real world we live in.
Psychopathic world.

Overall I really liked the movie,
Felt sorry for Tomas tho, he's a real friend

My analysis of the film. [SPOILERS AHEAD]. The ending comes off somewhat unrealistic only because we assume who Javier is solely based on his situation. His anger and frustration seem understandable because unemployment is a common problem that would make anybody confused and helpless, especially a breadwinner. But is this really a movie about a man who needs a job to feel responsible toward his family? The truth is that we only learn who Javier really is as the movie unfolds, so we are kind of tricked into thinking that his situation is the main cause of his behavior, hence why it feels relatable in the beginning. However, the character development he undergoes suggests that he established his life and family through a process of cunning and deceit long before the movie even started. The loss of his job and house is shattering the reality that has been concealing his true nature since he got married, so it's only natural that he reconnects with this side of him once the facade breaks down. Behind the facade, Javier is an idealist in pursuit of a carefully crafted lifestyle that accepts no compromise. We see his vision of the ideal life represented in his work, and he is insulted when it's criticized by the interviewers in the beginning, but we also see it when he refuses to let go of his fancy car, forces his son to lose weight, and occasionally breaks into homes to get his daily dose of this idealism. The dark truth about people obsessed with something to this extent is that it does not matter what they have to lose or sacrifice to have it. Javier was able to let go of his family easily because they only served to preserve the illusion he was living under. Once the illusion was shattered, they had no purpose.
