My ex narc hub (now deceased) would walk ahead of me everywhere we went. Quickly and never would look back. Just to aggravate him, I would walk slower and slower. No one even knew we were together. It was incredibly embarrassing and insulting - multiple people noticed his behavior. So glad I finally found out about narcissism. Single and free thank goodness!

My narcissist mother walks ahead of me like she can't wait to get away from me. I have an image ingrained in my mind of her racing ahead of me top speed at the grocery store. I just let her run down whatever aisle of her immediate choosing. I suppose she was expecting me to follow her like a frazzled puppy. She turned around and I (purposely) wasn't there. She eventually found me in some random aisle. She then scolded me for "leaving her alone." I was like, "What did you expect me to do? Chase you?"

So on the spot!!he always walked ahead of me and as if he were the most attractive person the planet.And when I liked something and wanted to buy it, he would step back and stand at a distance and just tell me take whatever I want, which was his way of saying that I don't like spending money, let's just go home!!

That 1st one happened to me right after my wedding! My new husband walked off with his mother side by side while I trailed right behind them. It was so confusing & humiliating. Then my aunt talked to me so I ended up leaving the ceremony walking away with my aunt & uncle, following my husband & his true bride-his mother!
