My dad had a stroke and aneurysm at 40, it was hard won but he got it all back and even got his masters degree. Your garden will bloom again, Austin. Best wishes.

"Austin is still inside, searching for the way back."

Alright, started crying at that. We believe in you bud, and your brain is amazing and is RIGHT NOW figuring out the best way through this.

Heart surgery followed by a stroke. This man is an absolute beast for still being here with us today. KEEP POWERING THROUGH IT MAN! YOU CAN DO IT!

That was honestly heartwrenching. I haven’t watched Austin in a while, but hearing the raspy voice that was a trace of his former self was devastating. I hope you have a full recovery and can see your beautiful garden once again

I can wholeheartedly recommend Bob Ross' "The Joy of Painting" for soft but engaging programming

Been watching your videos for many years, brother. I've got plenty more to wait for your recovery.

As for recommendations, Game Changer is a gameshow right here on YouTube that's both extremely clever and silly. Right up your alley for sure.

Ah man so sorry to hear you’ve suffered a complication post op, but glad the surgery itself was successful. Having the brakes on your creativity must be very hard for someone as creative as you. Getting home is a big step and I’m sure the improvements will keep coming. Hoping for a complete recovery, even if not speedy – it’s a long road, but you don’t need me to tell you that 🙂 Keep pushing, keep going, stay positive. Get well soon Austin and best wishes to you and your family ❤️‍🩹

Thank you for all that you've done for us all these years. All the learning, beauty and laughter. May you find your way back to your self. We are all cheering for you.

I had a stroke too, and brain surgery, seven years ago. Reading is what helped me the most - don't force yourself to read as much as you used to, just do it a little bit. The only real piece of advice I can give you is to not compare yourself to what you used to be, or what you think you used to be. You survived. You have people who love you. Things can get better

4:49 as for lighthearted TV, I’d recommend Taskmaster (U.K. edition). There are loads of seasons too so should keep you busy for a while. Get well soon Austin!

my nurse brain doesn't shut off so i cant help but notice the work of breathing and obvious fatigue...you are going through some objectively difficult stuff. You can do this and you will get through this- hopefully feeling proud of yourself for what you have accomplished. Rooting for you and thinking about you everyday man

That strained, raspy sound of your voice… utterly heartbreaking. I’m so sorry that happened to you, but I’m hoping that you’ll soon be feeling better, stronger, and more motivated than before. Wishing you the best.

You can tell from his voice, that his lungs are tired,
and from his droopy eyes, he hasn't got any sleep.
The story about the gardener was beautiful.
I wish I could do more than write a comment, hope you get better!

The best thing “light-hearted” programming I can recommend is Joe Pera talks with you. Very funny and calming. We love you Austin!

I recommend Shaun the Sheep. It’s a kids show with almost no dialogue but it’s surprisingly warm and funny even for adults and has a meditative quality.

You might not feel like yourself right now, but there's nothing more Austin than taking on an extreme challenge with grit and determination.

I find Joe Pera Talks With You on AdultSwim is incredibly light hearted programming

Summoning Salt. His series on the world record progression of different games speed running scenes is riveting, but his delivery is calm and soothing :)

The balls you have to not only get this surgery with no fear but proceed to get on camera to discuss it is incredible. Austin, I love your content, you are a light within this world. I do hope that you have a great recovery! Please get well soon!
