Join us as we give you an Amtrak sleeper car room tour (all Viewliner rooms reviewed). We will share the routes as well as a tour of every sleeper room on the Amtrak Viewliner train. We start with the Amtrak Viewliner I roomette and Amtrak Viewliner II roomette then we will show you the Amtrak Bedroom tour and finally the Amtrak Accessible room tour. THANK YOU! What an amazing video. I just booked a roomette on the Silver Star from Trenton to Kissimmee, and I feel so much more equipped now! I loved the detail-oriented you took to every aspect of the roomettes -- now I feel perfectly prepared if I get a ViewLiner I or II . . . what a great feeling! I also very much your approach to the other classes of rooms on the Viewliner routes. Such a wonderful resource. I also appreciate the emphasis that you place on "enjoy your journey" -- for Amtrak, maybe it means Viewliner I vs II . . . but in so many other things in life, you just never know how things are going to play out. Everything that we can do to encourage flexibility in the lives of everyone we come in contact with (including ourselves!) . . . it might be hard, but it's time well spent.

$1, 800 for an overnight train is quite impossible for us retired people. For that price you can get 5 nights at a pretty nice hotel. Granted this price includes meals, but nothing about the Viewliner seems to warrant that kind of price.

My preferences were the luxurious Pullman sleepers and formal dining cars run by the fallen flags when we were kids. We spent a lot of time on them pre-Amtrak. Santa Fe was my favorite.

Excellent review! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience! We love to take the train and usually take the SM to FL for our cruises. We live in Fredericksburg and the train stops in town making it very convenient. I also take the train to Chicago for travel. Love splurging on the bedrooms when there are two of us, otherwise the roomette is fine. As I've aged, I've found the toilet in the room more convenient so the new roomette will be an adjustment. Thanks again forcyour great train reviews and sharing your love of riding the rails!
