In this video we will take you on a tour of the Amtrak Family Bedroom on a superliner train. You will find the family bedroom in the Amtrak sleeper car on the Amtrak Empire Builder, Amtrak Sunset Limited, Amtrak Coast Starlight and the Amtrak California Zephyr. In this Amtrak Sleeper Car tour you will get a chance to see the family bedroom. The Amtrak bedroom selection is slim, there are only two options, the bedroom and the family bedroom. We will also chat about Amtrak roomette vs bedroom. We hope you enjoy the tour, let us know in the comments if you have booked the family bedroom before.

Amtrak should hire you in their Marketing Dept. Your reviews are thorough, easy to understand, and not boring. Good job!

I once rode City Of New Orleans Family Room as single traveler for the experience... It was the only Family Room on the train and lower level... entire width of train... Window each side...Fun Ride !!!

Just traveled from California to Denver in a family room with my husband. This video was great for preparing us and helping us know how to pack for our accommodations. A couple things: First, as two fairly tall/large people, I can’t imagine being comfortable in any smaller room!! Second, while the lower bed is pretty comfortable, it really only fits one person comfortably. And the upper bunk is hard as a rock. I can usually sleep anywhere, but that bunk was torture. Third, it’s super important to wipe everything down with some disinfecting wipes as soon as you move in. The tables, armrests, etc were really dirty. In fact, overall, the Zephyr sleeping car we were in was poorly maintained, dirty, and usually had large piles of full garbage bags and laundry bags blocking the hallway outside the bathrooms.

Never traveled on Amtrak but with new routes and upgrades I look forward to finally enjoy this great country in comfort and style. Thanks for your great information. You really sell it!

You two have me Amtrak travel addicted. I just finished a three part “triangle” excursion from Philadelphia to Washington D.C. to Pittsburgh and then back to Philadelphia again. Now, I’ve booked a first class round trip from Philly to Baltimore and back again, just to try the Acela and Amtrak 1st class at once. And I’ve been booked on a multi-part ride in Jan 2022, for Los Angeles to San Diego, then up to Emeryville to take the Zephyr to Chicago in a bedroom.

Been watching your channel for several months (subscribed) and love your tours and reviews of Amtrack trains. I've been interested in traveling by train for vacation, both of you have provided an abundance of great information and tips on train travel.

It was only $80 more for me to book a family bedroom for just me than a roomette on the California Zephyr, thanks for this!

I watched this again today. I love your videos and the effort you put into them. And props to Rob for conquering the top bunk all the time. I'm 6'3". I couldn't handle it.

Awesome! Thank you. This was very descriptive. We're thinking of taking the zephyr from Chicago to Salt Lake in July 2022. Our boys will be 9 and 7. This gives me a better visual.

Excellent review. Everytime i see this room configuration, I am reminded that in some Countries, they have accommodations like this, that are "shared". Bunks/berth are assigned randomly.

I agree with Danny Sowell. You speak so well. You leave nothing out. Have a very attractive face and personality. Just a all around American Gale😉

I have been watching some of your videos and I know on one Allie mentioned a little bit about luggage storage areas. My wife and I are scheduled to do a 19 days coast to coast from Albuquerque to California, Seattle, Chicago, DC, New Orleans and back to Albuquerque. We avail of the 299 Rail Pass and will be using it on 5 legs of less than 24 hour ride and the other 3 long hauls will be on a Roomette and one on a family Room on the Empire Builder. I was wondering if you could show or include (if possible) the Designated Luggage areas for coach on the Viewliner and Superliner.

You guys are just awesome and of big help to people like us who have not experienced it yet.
