If you ask us what our favourite cuisine is, it’s probably Vietnamese.

It’s so underrated in Scotland.

Their national dish is Pho, it’s essentially a warm bowl of noodle soup, perfect for this weather. It’s also very low in fat, great if you are still on that health kick.

So we are in Non Viet in Partick, this is their third branch in Glasgow.

They have coat hooks next to the tables, why isn’t this standard in all restaurants?

They make fresh lemon and mango smoothies, so it’s extra refreshing.

Vietnamese side salads are the best, they either use mango or green papaya, done with a sweet and sour dressing, so good.

We got these crispy spring rolls, and these Ha Long fish cakes to start.

So if you haven’t notice already, this is restaurant is 100% vegan.

So this is actually made with soybean protein.

The texture and taste was exactly like fish, they even used a seaweed nori paper so it looks like the skin. We knew we didn’t need to worry about having fish bones here.

This was the special fried rice, it was wrapped in this massive lotus leaf. It has tofu and veggies mixed into it made with jasmine and violet rice.

So the broth in a traditionally made pho is made with meat and bones, so we were excited to taste what a vegan version was like. It still tasted good, it’s more of an mushroom unami flavour.

The pho has all sort of veggies in them, some exotic ones too, like this! You think it’s from the sea, but it was a called a cauliflower mushroom. They even had char sui.

This was the Ha Noi Caramel and Banana. It had a sweet sauce to it, perfect with the fried rice.

We finished with mango spring rolls. Mango was wrapped in filo pasty, just like a regular spring roll and it came with mango and coconut cream sauce.

You can’t get more niche than this place, Vietnamese and vegan?

Restaurants like this just shows how diverse the food scene is in Glasgow.
