Why is God Far Away?

"Why, Lord, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?" Psalm 10v1

Things that can cause God to feel far away:
1. Busyness.
Our overloaded schedules can crowd out time with God. (Lk 10v38 - 42). Busyness isn't next to godliness. In fact, our crammed calendars can cause us to miss connecting with God daily.
2. Stuff.
In Mt 19v16-22, Jesus urged a man to sell all he had and follow him, but the man went away sad because he had great wealth. So, if our hearts wander after more and more stuff, we will have little room for God. (Mt 6v21)
3. Sin.
Lingering sin in our lives can still stand in the way of present fellowship with God. Fortunately, when we confess our sins, repent, and obey God, we will feel the Father's love and personal presence once again. (1 Jn 1v9)
4. Tests.
Sometimes God allows off seasons of spiritual wilderness to strengthen our faith. 2 Chronicles 32v31 says that God withdrew from Hezekiah to test him. Tests reveal and prepare. So, tests and trials, purify our faith and prepare us for new assignments. God’s silence is not God’s absence.

Home stretch This is my first 21-day water fast and these last few days have been rough. Working back to back 16 hour double shifts on Saturday and Sunday with only a few hours of sleep in between. Came back to work again this morning for 8 hours with only a few hours of sleep again, but God has been keeping me. Staying well hydrated, and using wisdom by taking my Fasting electrolyte drops when I feel the need to. My wife and I are looking forward to what God has in store for me and my family at the Finish line. (She's fasting from a few things since she's nursing and can't do a water fast). Glory Glory glory! God is so good. 🙌🏼

This is the hardest fasting I have done. My family and I have been spiritually attacked so many times this past two weeks it’s been so hard so I will start over it wasn’t this hard last year last year I had to do the whole 30 days because of how many times I cheated, but may God give me the glory the peaceand the wheel to finish this 21 day fest in Jesus name

sometimes its not that God withdrew from us, its that we are distracted from Him, our stuff can cause us off to wander, Nobody falls out of love with God untill they first fall out in love for repentance

Pastor Vlad I was in same situation. I lived with parents, overworked and made too much money for a 20 yr old that I had enough to pay for wedding when I got married at 21, bought furniture etc and once I got money, I felt like “now what?” There is too much business and no time for God and this empty feeling inside regardless of how much money I made as a young adult. It took me a while to come back to God as I used to be when I was a teenager. We need God in every moment.

I connected with you Pastor Vlad when you talked about being obsessed with saving money for your wedding and being so proud of yourself. That is me but I have been letting go more and more each day as I know God will take care of my family financially, He always has. My husband is not good with financial matters so I felt I had to be the one to make sure we are financially stable. I started this fast (my first) but could not do the complete water fast. I listened to a sister in Christ who said she was doing one meal a day fast, so that is what I have been doing. Pastor Vlad, each day I listen to you, it's a new revelation for me. Every time I think you're done with me, you hit me with something new (lol ). I have learned so much listening to you. Thank you for blessing me each day with encouragement. Amen 43:28 I needed this it’s definitely sin and busy life. Forgive me Holy Spirit for not giving you the time and I thank you for convicting me and not forsaking me father. Jehovah shaloam I cannot live without your peace that you provide me on the daily Jehovah Jireh please forgive me and continue to convict me if I ever begin to neglect our time together. I pray that I can have my heart circumcised and practice true repentance for my current sin and truly put you first in everything in existence that is to come for mine and of course if it’s in your will my family’s journey father.
