Thank you for your kindness and compassion. Your descriptions are very easy to comprehend and that serms to make things "less scary". I'm a Marfan patient and have had mitral repair with a ring. I also have a dilitated aorta being monitored. It sure helps when medical personnel understand how very...well...scary heart health issues can be.

Thanks for the info. I might ad to the causes. I had a restrictive bicuspid valve. It caused part of my heart to get stronger and larger. Also athletes have larger harts. And if your wondering, I had my aortic valve replaced with a porcine valve and artery repaired. No restrictions and going full speed again.

Thank you for this straight forward explanation. I was born with congenital heart disease. I had a hole in my heart also a Leakey valve.

I had opened heart surgery from day one to close the hole. And repair the valve.

As I got into my teens. I started to develop. A Leakey valve. Over time I got so lethargic.

At age 26 i had my second valve repair due to my first pregnancy. I was having heart failure. I was not allowed to leave my hospital bed for almost 2 months. They even gave up. They told me I had a 99.9 chance that I would not make it. They had done everything. I kept strong in my faith in Jesus. And thank you Lord Jesus I had the baby and he allowed me to leave with my baby. Doctors were shocked. I know it was a miracle by my Lord Jesus. Because all the doctor's were shocked.

I had my repair done. A couple of months later. Not by open heart surgery. They went through my groine. Thank you Lord Jesus Christ, I'm feeling so much better. I'm currently on asprin for life. and have monthly cheek ups with my cardiologist. She's been a blessing to me. I'm so greatful to my loving God and Saviour Jesus Christ for allowing me to live and for healing me. And im greatful to the Lord Jesus Christ for blessing us with doctors like you.

May my loving God and Saviour Jesus Christ bless you and continue to use you for his awesome glory. Thank you for this video.

hello, thank you for your video. My father has an slightly enlarged heart and arrhythmia that doctors tried to get away with making little scratches on his heart ( that does sound awful... ) It worked for only some time but the arrhythmia always comes back, like an extra beat. In his 20's and 30's he was running a lot, also some marathons. Some of the people he was running with also have this same sort of heart problems, not life-threatening but very annoying. When my father sits or has eaten sometimes the extra beat came and then it would get away after some time. But now it is there permanently. He also has a slow heartbeat ( compared to other people his age) There are no heart diseases in the family so i think it must have to do with the running. Now the doctors don't know for sure why he has an enlarged hearth but they do say it can be because of the running is his younger years. This makes me wonder how many people have this condition after running and sports for a long period of time. He now tries low carb diets and always eats healthy and stay slim cause gaining some weight makes the heart problem even bigger, like only a few kilo's can make a difference in how the heart is beating.

I’m 32 and my doctor told me last year based on my X-ray, my heart was huge. He did a ekg and said my heart rhythm was great. I’ve always had high BP for years. Always in the 140s/high 80s range. Never was told I needed meds. Just always was told to watch what I eat. My doctor wanted to run more test but he died suddenly. Before dying he put me on meds for my blood pressure. I never did a follow up with another doctor, Bc I’m scared to get bad news. Instead I take my meds and my blood pressure is always around the low 100s/low 70s. I try to work out 3 times a week or more. I’ve picked up weight since the Pandemic, but overall I still need to lose about 30-40 more lbs. I feel like I’m pretty healthy. No shortness of breath when working out, but sometimes I get a lot of skipped beats when working out. I’m starting to experience more skipped heart beats and I don’t know why. It’s when I eat, or when I feel excited. Sometimes my heart rate gets very low at night Around 55bpm. I wake up gasping. I just really need to go set an appointment and make sure things aren’t getting worse, but man am I scared to find out. I read online that an enlarged heart can’t really be reversed that alone scares me. Bc I don’t know how long it’s been enlarged. Anyone else have these symptoms. I’m married with two small kids and just of thought of me going into heart failure at a young age frightens me.

Definitely someone easy to communicate with unlike so many other paint-by-numbers cookie-cutter cardiologists.
