How to ● re - SEAL A TUBE OF CAULKING ● the easy way

Why throw out a partially used tube of caulking? Here's an easy way to save and reseal the end of a caulking tube and still be able to re-use it months later. Re-seal and save money instead of throwing out a partially used tube.It can be saved and re-sealed over and over until depleted. Caulking can be re-used months later.

I wish you'd said something about removing finger from glove first.

Brilliant. The problem with just putting a cap on the tip is that air is still in the nipple which will harden the silicone inside. Your solution sees to it that this does not happen. Nicely done sir! Of all of the "save a tube of caulk" videos I just watched this one was the best. Elegant solution!

I've been reluctant to open mine because I only need a little of it and planning to use it when I have more to use it for. This saved me the worry. BTW the nearest hardware is like 40km and I don't have any means of transpo so I always buy everything I'll be needing in the future when I have the time to go there. Thanks a lot.

First time caulker here and this tip saved me $10 since I only used 5% of the tube 😎

We have a second refrigerator that I store calking and glues in. After sealing I refrigerate it but word to the wise, don't use the kitchen refrigerator if your married and want to stay that way.

That's a nice tip. What I do is clean out the nozzle, unscrew it, place plastic wrap over the end and screw the nozzle back on the seal it. I've had tubes last years like that

Thanks! It seems nobody makes tubes with caps anymore. Great Idea! Thanks again. Dave

Yeah, I did that, and the tip stayed fresh, and the tube went rock hard

I have tried everything, and the best way to seal a tube is to purchase a red wire nut from the hardware store. It works perfectly for latex for very extended periods and is also the best for silicon. I have found, however, that the silicon carrier is so volatile that even an unopened tube can go bad within a year or so.

I know you made this long ago but you are a genius!

Greatest trick ever! Way better than the nail shoved down the tube. Awesome tip!

Amazing tip...I've tried for years using the old nail with electrical tape on the end...this will save me money in the long run!

Thank you, just what I was looking for. I have lost tubes of RTV black gasket maker, silicone and marine sealant because I did not know how to do this.

Cool idea thanks! I happened to have a perfect size screw with extra large, widely spaced threads so I wrapped it with Teflon tape and screwed it all the way in!

Love it...much better than those rubber caps that are made for it and slide off...THANKS.

Right before I found this video I used the exact same type of glove to put over the tip and wrapped a rubber band around it. It was for a roof sealant. Glad I did it correctly.🤸‍♀🧠

I've seen folk sticking a flatheaded pin in to block the hole. Or a nail. Your idea seems cool too.

Best idea. Costs 1 cent.
Works perfectly.
Remove nib after use, then make indentation with finger, then get candle and pour wax on the tip in the indentation.
Works 200% 100% of the time. 3 bags full Sir.
