HELENE'S STORM OF TEARS = 2024!!
The storms of life come to everyone
There are none who are immune.
Some approach in our later years
While others come too soon.

Helene hit like an atom bomb
Consuming the helpless in its path.
The waters of the deep surged forth
Flooding everything with their wrath.

Conviction is our emotional union
As we weather the storms of Earth.
Thank God for His amazing grace
Which helps us reveal our worth.

Time wipes tears from all faces
Whose hearts are tuned to sorrow.
Those that cry a thousand tears
Shall be blessed by tomorrow.

Wow, gov't flood map said 1% chance of flooding. Well I'd be at my elected officials home asking him or her how much of my tax dollars paid for that useless map and which of their cousins got the contract to make it. My house is 10 feet higher than normal stream level, 100 feet uphill from the stream, with a raised 2 land road embankment between me and the stream and my front yard is STILL considered a flood zone, per maps every little town in my state has had to have made up voted on approved by us all (and yeah state paid for it but it was my tax money). fyi nope, 3 generations, 3 hurricanes, water never flooded up there, but then theres a 'river' here that you can walk across in the summer not get knees wet, that had same water in it as Niagra falls last hurricane induced flood so I guess maybe that little stream could up and wash out the road and get into my yard.
Ask your mayors, state aseembly and gov why your state hasn't been doing what mine has for 30 yr to reduce the flood risks etc. Last 2 hurricans didn't even loose a dozen people.
You all are NOT getting good service from your public servants, or from the tax money you fork out to them every year
