First best in-depth review of the products with the use of pertinent information not available with other reviews. I got my answer as to what to choose. Thank you, man, beautifully done!
One thing I'd change is the music you use: try to demo with more orchestral and easy relatable sounds, like piano or some orchestral music and/or easily recognizable songs. Also use some punchy and bass-y stuff. Try to do some post-processing, splicing the same song into SEAMLESS segments played by both units, otherwise until you switch from one device to the other, one already forgot what the other sounded like. :)
Try to stay away from synthesizers that have no "basic" sound of their own as no one knows with them what sounds "right" or should sound right. For example, you'd be far better off playing some Elton John's classics to get a better understanding and feel between the units' similarities/differences. :)
I know this type of music may not resonate with the younger crowd (getting ready for hiking/biking), but believe me, having come from the audio background, I know that some basic fundamental things best suit one's needs when it's hard sometimes to make up one's mind or arrive at the correct decision.

You can pair the clip 3 to other speakers the cable on the clip 2 is to connect to other devices without Bluetooth just hold the Bluetooth button longer

I just got a model '3' today after having two of the model '2' (the '3' still costs $79.00 in Canadian dollars BTW). I had to upgrade my existing Clip 2 because as with all Li-Ion battery devices, if you fully charge them every day, the battery capacity diminishes significantly. (If there was a way to charge them to 90% of their max capacity apparently you'd increase the total charge cycles by a factor of 5). So chances are, if like me, you already own a '2' for a year or more and have charged it regularly, you've noticed your battery is down to 4 hours or so (this does not work well for a day of skiing in the backcountry while you listen to Podcasts and you end up having to power your speaker from a power bank). One of the first things I noticed is that the '3' has a micro-usb. That signals to me that they have rolled out a design they came up with 3 years ago. If they released this model today, it would have a USB 'C' port, and not Micro USB. Although I had planned to replace my '2' with this model, the fact it has a micro USB charging port makes me think that within Q2 or Q3 of 2020, there will be yet another newer and improved model, perhaps a 'Clip 4'? For this reason, I am considering returning the '3' to Costco and waiting for the '4'.

IMO the 2 us a better more durable product plus the connectivity for the 2 is way better regarding daisy chaining...the sound isnt THAT big a difference quality isnt like its a whole upgrade to the unit ..

I have both and was very disappointed in the 3 when I play both speakers simultaneously from my s10 theres a delay as the 3 plays late by like a second so it FKS up the enjoyment..It esp sucks because JBL promotes the ability to connect multiple devices to the same source..

They(JBL) dropped the ball on the 3 and seemed to have a less durable, less enjoyable product especially from having the 2 first and being able to see 1st hand differences..it pales in comparison imo..

Durability, style(carabiner is nice and ruged & hasn't broken yet, meanwhile the clip opening on the 3 popped off last month sometime.🤷🏾‍♂️) options (plug in jack attached, and daisy chain capabilities.. im sticking with the 2 and am looking for another..

Oh, yea dropped my 3 and the face came off as well..2 is way more city-built than the suburbanite clip 3 lol

Do both of them turn off by themselves after 10 mins of no activity?
Is there a way to turn them on continuously so that I could use them as a speakerphone?

How do you connect 2 jack plugs? You said that you can daisy chain them because they have the cable. This is beyond wrong. The only way to pair the clip 2 is via bluetooth and you can only pair 2 of them.

You have to press the bluetooth and power button at the same time to pair it with an iPhone pressing the bluetooth will not work
