A appears to be 4k because the blue light on his neck is way more vivid and the edge of the light is more defined when he's drinking from the bottle. That is a giveaway because if you notice the light at the beginning of the video, the tint is equal to what is shown on A during the side-by-side. When he switched to 480p, the blue tint was discolored and blurred.

Compression, plus this is on YouTube shorts. There isn't enough detail to look at in the first place.

So the reason I watched this was to determine if I should continue subscribing to the top tier T-Mobile plan which allows you to stream video in 4K vs a cheaper Mint Mobile unlimited plan that requires video is streamed at 480p. I'm using an iphone 14 Pro Max, so given such as small screen, is there a notable video/audio difference between 4K vs 480p streaming?

Id say A personally looks more defined and detailed idk

The shot is kinda hard to focus, I think you should use the portrait straight face for 5 sec speak or smth. Better

Two main problems here. Frame rate matters. That old camera had such a low frame rate that the movement looked terrible but the resolution actually wasn't bad. More importantly is upscaling ability. Viewing 720 or 1080 on a 4K TV with poor upscaling ability is going to look way worse than 4K will on that TV. But if you were watching 720 on a nice Sony 4K TV with awesome AI upscaling it won't look bad at all.

If you're not taking the screen used to view the video into consideration this is a worthless conversation

I’m just watching this on my phone but I think 4K is B. The black line on the light in the back looks more defined but it’s a hard sell on small screens there’s not much of a difference unless you zoom in.

The screen looks larger when I change my series x to 1080p from 4k. Is this some type of illusion?

I want to move this on my phone and I can only hold up all the way to 1080p

I literallycanbot use 4k. My max is 1080p. And my device has gotten more laggy. So i usually set it to 480.

Yes, I can tell without a doubt. I’d say the answer is A.

Switching between art formats you have to get used to the limitation of 480p or the massive pixel size or 4K.

my Monitor is 1080p only, but i would say the A is 4K cuz it looks like more sharper?

Some phones can’t even render 4k so it looks like same as 1080

the only difference I see from 4k to 480p is the framerate
