Run a MySQL/JDBC Java Application from Outside the University with Netbeans on Mac

The exact details of this ONLY work for University of Westminster members. Your system may be different.

This shows running a MySQL Java application, copied from the Tech Support site, using the University server (elephant) remotely through an SSH tunnel. The tunnel is required as we are outside the University network, and so outside the firewall which blocks external access to elephant.
