Step by Step directions for how to factor by grouping. Factoring by grouping is used when you have four items in the polynomial equation.
Here are the steps
Step 1. Group the first two terms together and the last two terms together. The third sign goes with the second term. If the sign is negative you have to factor out the sign.

Step 2. Find the GCF of each group and divide each group by the gcf.

Step 3 Write the GCF out front of each set from step 2

Step 3. Factor out the common BINOMIAL,and write the remaining terms as the 2nd factor
