for those that dont know... the "red-haired annie" at the beginning is Taylor Richardson who was playing Annie on Broadway at the time of filming! (and that is much like her costume and wig in the show)

This opening is so incredible! The great medley of the other songs playing, and the joke reference to the “original” Annie, I really dig it :)

Honestly, minus the part where they reference the original, this opening scene's pretty good. I like the medley (Overture) playing in the background

They've written Charles Strouse in place of James Buchanan and Martin Charnin in that of Grover Cleveland. Strouse was the original musical's composer, and Charnin was the lyricist. Neither was ever President.

UPDATE: Oh. I never noticed. Thomas Meehan in place of Andrew Jackson. He wrote the book (the part of the musical that has NO songs).
